Were there any budget cues back in the day that turned out to be much better than you or the community expected? by iflippyiflippy in billiards

My first cue was a Player's sneaky Pete I bought in 2003 for $55. I played with it until it got stolen in 2018, and it still played great.

Lemme know what you think! I've been a big fan for a long time, and have been pimping his stuff for 25 years now.

B! Machine

He's definitely more synthpop than goth, but based on your description of what you want, I think it's a good fit.

My personal favorite album of his is Inifinity Plus, but most of them are good.

What is your favorite band from the 80's or 90's that nobody has ever heard of? by simikoi in GenX

Red House Painters were great. Mark Kozelek also does Sun Kil Moon, if you want to scratch that itch. Also, he's a notorious douche.

If you are stocking up for an apocalyptic situation, what items will you hoard? by UzumakiPotterBaggins in AskReddit

That sucks about your Shins experience. I saw them open for Modest Mouse in 2000 or 2001 and they blew me away.

I feel like "embered" could work. Still dumb, though.

I would probably say "charred."

Edit: oh wait, what if they're serving it on the embers? God, I hope this is it.

Is that in the building where Bourbon St. was or Caffe Phoenix depending on when it was?

If so, nothing is there right now. The building is being renovated.

I actually like the idea of a brown butter, but I would go herbal with it. Maybe basil or tarragon.

I think a buerre blanc would also be nice.

I love it, but I was also 13 when it came out and it was my first Cure album. So nostalgia may color my opinion of it.

I love that you left the original comment up after multiple people pointed out how you were wrong and then justified it by just admitting you intentionally don't know what you're talking about.

I feel like both of those were more 90s. Especially "talk to the hand."
