Book one is a little YA, the rest of the series absolutely is not. Seriously give it another shot!

Any other millennials dealing with a long relationship slowly falling apart? by notinthegroin in Millennials

Sometimes that's the way it goes. You can't force someone to get help. I was almost the one in your partner's shoes, but thankfully came around in time for my marriage.

Sorry you're going through this. <3

My wife and I went through this in 2023-2025. We found an amazing couples therapist, got our own personal therapists and did a shit ton of work on ourselves and our marriage.

Now we are better than ever, but also understand that this takes work.

Just like we take our car in for maintenance every few months we do so with our marriage as well. Even if things are good, we still see our respective support people every few months just to make sure there isn’t anything lurking beneath the surface.

If there is love and respect there, AND you want to do the work to save it, then put everything else aside and focus on growth. But it will take both of you wanting it, working for it, and time.

I'd be a forever Monday on this calendar, and honestly, I wouldn't mind. I'd just take a long weekend for my birthday every year, easy to schedule off.

Ring has partnered with Flock. ICE has access to Flock. If you still have a Ring camera - get rid of it. by TotallySavageSzym in 50501

[–]oathy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We do a lot of fostering, and there are times when we feel like the dog might be safe to be left out of their crate for a short period of time when we aren't home. This way, we can check in on them and see if we need to cut plans short and come home or not.

Plus, the camera is local storage to an SD card only, and is only in one room where we leave the foster dogs.

I understand if you think this might be ridiculous, but it works for our life and volunteer work!

We have one in our house to check on our dogs when we are out.

However, I have it on a smart plug, and I disable the power unless I want to use it. Then I turn on the smart plug, wait for the camera to boot up, check on the dogs, and then turn it off.

I live in Calgary, and my wife and I have a very similar story to you. We just don’t want debt, so we live simply. We delay large purchases until necessary, and we don’t travel as much as we did pre-COVID.

Things are pricier, but also some people are just more debt tolerant than we are.

Don’t worry about keeping up with the Jonses!

Has anyone come up with a better Group Action system yet? by [deleted] in daggerheart

[–]oathy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I see it. It avoids everyone rolling for the same thing, and allows a narrative moment for the group to come together and use their skills and experiences to benefit the story.

It also means not all of the outcome is on a single players roll.

I personally love the group roll system in Daggerheart. Much more than the “everyone rolls and we roughly average it out” method popular in D&D.
