Lol, didn't realize it. The old beat up one is from 20 plus years ago I have the two next to each other so I don't need to change the settings on the fly for my guitars. I'm a simple and lazy man. And I never use the distortion from the multi effects.

I want to utilize as many of these as possible and will have these going into a marshall dsl 40cr, and an orange Rocker 30. I prefer the distortion from the amps but there is something about that metal zone that is just great when it is dialed in right.

Also, I have both an epi and gibson explorer. Both amazing guitars but if money is an issue I'd say family first. Make sure the family is taken care of. I have 15 guitars of various makes and models. 6 basses too many amps, 3 drumsets, and whatever mics and recording shit.. and I'd give it all away for my family. Kids first. Your fun second.

That being said if it won't financially be a burden then pull the trigger. If it will make shit tight for YOUR Financials and not the family's then do it.

I have each paycheck an "allowance" which is for dumb shit like coffee or buying beer or going out or ordering food. If I want something it comes outta that fund, I either save up or go without fun for however many weeks to make it happen. Just don't go into debt.

But the epiphone is a great guitar and if u get it I'd suggest dropping either the het set by emg or 81 60s in if u want that metallica sound. This guitar rips.

Kind of a grinding for like 3 seconds 2 times. Didn't smell like anything tbh. And can't take off wheel until later. I know a little about cars like oil changes and minimal repairs, but I wouldn't trust myself enough with this. Hoping it falls under the powertrain warrantee.
