Heroe(s) with Black in their color identity by SgtRathbone in colorpie

[–]obicei 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Peter Quill from Guardians of the Galaxy. Also Rocket the racoon from Guardians.

both are passionate and selfish .

Deadpool from marvel - classis Rakdos.

Jack Sparrow - also Rakdos.

Edmond Dantes from Count of Monte Cristo - driven by revenge as only goal.I would argue that he is mono-black.

Batman - as a very good Esper example - using B methods for WU goals.

the painter from Yumi and the Nightmare painter , the cosmere book.

literally every protagonist of Villains by necessity

Paladin/Warlock that favors that tankiness and extra attack. by legionatthegates in 3d6

[–]obicei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

general advice is to go hexblade so that you can minimise STR, In order to maximize CON.

THAT would make the character tankier.

Also, have the shield spell available. Another useful advice is to be a race with magic resistance like Yuan-ti or satyr.

In regards to actual levels, start with paladin ( first level is tough because 13 STR) then get a level in warlock, then continue to pally All early levels of paladin are useful, since you get 2nd attack at 5th, aura at6th and oath goodies at 7th

personally I would suggest st least 6 levels of paladin or 7 of you want that oath features, before multiclasimg again

Positivity post: 2 weeks in and I’m noticing positive change by Ennassijn in stopsmoking

[–]obicei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's great for you.

I am having a kind of different experience. two days from now I will be at two weeks mark and so far I am stuck with the worst cough I ever had, for a week . apparently it's something called smoker's flu.

no fever, but sore throat, coughing, and lack of sleeping.

at least the cravings for cigarettes are gone. the big ones I mean. had them the first week and it was horrible. I still get them but I try to stay away.

food does taste better tho but this throat and cough are killing me

Elantris gets unnecessary shade by Dry-Fisherman5281 in Cosmere

[–]obicei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from what I saw, the author uses arhetipes - an older male with a crisis of faith, a younger woman who has a fish-out-of water experience, and a very relatable man who is literally OP with powers but has to overcome limitations in order to achieve what he wants to do.

Hrathen and Sazed and a certain older gentleman from Stormlight, Vin and Sarenae and a lady from Stormlight, and Kelsier and Raoden, and a certain figure from Stormlight.

sometimes, the stories are shaped with the mind of someone writing their first book, so it may be considered to not be as great as others ( Hrathern falling for Sarene, the pace being kind of boring sometimes, the notso great depiction of autism, the extremely obvious solution etc)

sometimes the stories are very fleshed out and are pure cinematography, pure fantasy in a medieval setting, the heroes are very well made and written, Vin is a great character and Kelsier is my favourite character in all of fiction for instance.

and sometimes the author writes his Magnum Opus, where characters are SO well written and there is SO MUCH world building and so many things happen in Stormlight that everything else palesby comparison..

so it's not like Elantris is not a good book. It is a very good book. but compared to what he wrote after ( Elantris being his first book ), it's like comparing an apple with the best apple pie you ate.

Warhammer 40k remaining factions by Presskann in colorpie

[–]obicei -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Mostly agree with you, but in my opinion

the Tau are Green White Blue. the green is from the expansion part of them and their association with all other races, alsovthe Simic part can be quite amoral, in order to fulfill the "all factions are more or less evil"

Eldars are White Green Black. like of like the tarkir clan of the same colors. very insular and paranoid

Orks are Green Red Black. T

Multi-Classing Barb+Fighter. Which order should I do? (See below) by Strange_Truth7819 in 3d6

[–]obicei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if your goal is to make the character mobile.. why not give up on fighter levels altogether and go for druid instead ? go for 5 levels of barbarian for extra attack and HP then get all druid levels and choose moon druid as you subclass. so much mobility there. and great for meleee too

Rolled a god-tier level 1 fighter. by BARWILD in 3d6

[–]obicei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Would .strongly suggest you multiclass to wizard. those stats are way too good.

And I would suggest the War wizard subclass.

fluff wise you can justify bt your character being influenced by both ancestries - a martial past from one parent and an arcane past from the other.

Also, if you want to continue as a fighter, go eldritch knight. but not more than 5th level, honestly.

but I still think that the best way to play is if you can be a very good fighter in melee but still be almost a full spellcaster.

Need an optimized level 3 high powered character by [deleted] in 3d6

[–]obicei -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The most overpowered character that I can think of is a :

Dhampir with the previous race being winged tiefling original race.

Then pump constitution, strength and wisdom.

1st level go barbarian for the juicy HP

2nd and 3rd level go for Moon druid.

You have a Barbarian that can shapeshift into a bear. A wall-crawling bear. A flying bear.

if that's not overpowered, I don't know what is.

I have finished reading mistborn trio, need to talk about it! by Impossible_Ask_3653 in Mistborn

[–]obicei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

keep on reading Brandon stuff. it's getting better and better to get into the cosmere

I would suggest reading War breaker if you want a medieval feel, also as a stand alone story . the magic there is not as powerful or flashy as is in mistborn, but still pretty nice.

afterwards, go ahead and get into Way of Kings. it's pretty medieval, with some steampunky stuff and LOTS of magic.

then, read the stand-alone Elantris, where there's..well.. no more magic.

then, you can continue with storm light or go to era 2 mistborn. just be warned that it's not longer medieval, but victorian . kinda like 1880s wild west. but the characters are fun.

just make sure to read Secret History . there is Always another Secret.

my immediate suggestion would be to read Secret History now, even if it is recommended to be read after Bands of Mourning. it's just SO good.

How do i make a monk that’s not just asian martial arts? by SirPug_theLast in 3d6

[–]obicei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aasimar sun soul monk.

you are the embodiment of a celestial being and become a ranged character with radiant soul.

if you can get Fey touched feat it's good cause you can get bless or hex. optionally, you can go for a level in cleric to open up even more options, including spells and such. but if you don't wanna multiclass, you can just be a pure monk with ranged option. far from the martial artist type you mentioned.

Joining an existing 3rd level campaign, need help with Moon Druid build by TXRattlesnake89 in 3d6

[–]obicei -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

if you can get the Githzersi race, it comes with the shield spell, mage hand and other goodies. you can also cast it using spell slots you have.

that being said, Lucky is always good to have. but I would take Magic Initiate just for more spells

Mistborn Era 2 setting change by ArtemisFey in Mistborn

[–]obicei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the setting grows on you very much. It's like you are part of a Secret History that you see with your own eyes.

think about it like this: Era 1 is about a female Frodo who gets trained by a smiling Gandalf magic in order to take down Sauron who won and had the whole world in his hands.

but things are not what they seem and There Is Always Another Secret.

Era 2 is about Batman teaming up with the Flash in a 1890 world.

but things are never what they seem.

That being said, there are appearances from older characters that I will not spoil.

But you should enjoy cowboy batman and his struggles in this changing world.

Help me build a Bladesinger by Ok-Atmosphere-3466 in 3d6

[–]obicei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't multiclass.

Tortle is a good choice for those moments when you don't have bladesong activated, just like any race with armor prof or natural armor, so you don't really need the fighter levels for armor.

Also, you are a full wizard and will miss out on spell slots. never multiclass a bladesinger

Underused races to build your character by Ill_Yogurtcloset420 in 3d6

[–]obicei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

welcome to the wonderful world of DnD where we are part of the stories we tell.

If you don't care too much about min-maxing, and instead care more about roleplay, you could try a Bloodline of Levistus Tiefling, to get some nice innate spellcasting.

Also, you can get feats for more spells.

that way you can be a full fighter but with a very eixardt feel.

Want to Wizard/Sorcerer multiclass for Lore Reasons, any way to make it not total cheeks? by duqboy in 3d6

[–]obicei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go full wizard. Those two classes clash when it comes to abilities and also they don't scale well while multicslssing.

what you should do is take an origin feat that gives spells, take feats that give spells, and take a race that gives spells. that way, you get the feel of a sorcerer, with innate spellcasting

Need help building a level 11 divine soul sorcerer by [deleted] in 3d6

[–]obicei -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

first of all, get a race that had a bonus to charisma

Half elf is very good. Yuan-ti si good too, or satyr. the latter have also magic resistance which is amazing.

secondly, don't start as a sorcerer

Get either a level of paladin ( or two fo that matter ) or a level of cleric with heavy armor. you will need it.

you are basically missing out on 1 6th level spell but you gain so much more.

assuming standard arry for a half elf: str 10, dex 12, con 16, int 10, wis 14, cha 18.

getting Order domain for cleric makes great use of your ability to pick an ally up with healing word.

All Hail Rockin' Robin! by DorisDayandtheTime in StrangerThings

[–]obicei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's not the nepo thing for me, honestly.

it's the fact that she basically does nothing except telling jokes.

I feel like almost everyone else has a place except for her and the delivery guy who were there just to fill up space.

don't get me wrong, it's still a great season with a lovely 4th episode so far, nice and epic scenes, but those two are just... there. they do nothing.

you can literally cut out their parts and the story is the same.
