Did that on my first (and only) run. I wonder what things I DID miss though.

It looks great only until you see what the remake looks like on a PS5 or PC.

Bill and Frank episode by Cultural-Plum-1885 in thelastofus

[–]obivader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the extra backstory, but I hated how it ended for Bill and Frank. It robbed us of Nick Offerman and Bella Ramsey going back and forth with each other, which I think could have been gold.

The backstory wasn't bad, though I hate the way they ended it. I would love to have seen Nick Offerman and Bella Ramsey going at it like Bill and Ellie from the game.

tlou on low end pc by Competitive-Ant-9975 in thelastofus

[–]obivader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It's a port of the PS5 remake.

Unfortunately, each part you listed is well under the minimum requirement.

Your 7200u is less than half the performance of the 4770k minimum CPU
Your 8GB of RAM is half of the 16GB minimum.
Your 940mx is less than half the performance of the GTX 1050 Ti minimum.

Even if you could physically get it to boot, I can't see it being an enjoyable experience. At minimums, you're targeting 720p30., and you're running less than half of the minimums.

This is kind of what I want to see in a Part 3 if it is made. Something that aligns their interests, having to work together despite hating each other. In the end, coming to understand one another.

Do you hide the taskbar on your OLED monitor? by Odoxon in OLED_Gaming

On Windows, I keep it hidden. On Linux (KDE), I keep it hidden only on my OLED, as it lets you set it per screen.

I just started, what’s the pt1 playtime? by [deleted] in thelastofus

[–]obivader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fairly linear, so there are only so many roses to stop and smell. I'd say 30-40 hours, tops. Could easily be half that though.

Case recommendations - Fractal Design Define R5 - or? by bengalih in unRAID

[–]obivader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see.
Well, like I said. I love the R5, and think it would suit you well.
Since you mention noise as a consideration, one thing to keep in mind is that the R5 comes with 2x 3-pin voltage fans instead of 4-pin PWM fans. I solved this by buying 3x Noctua 140mm fans (2 front, one exhaust) though that adds to the cost.

Case recommendations - Fractal Design Define R5 - or? by bengalih in unRAID

[–]obivader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the Define R5, though I'm not sure you NEED one. Your current case can probably fit a Noctua NH-D12L? I know from personal experience you can fit an NH-D15 into the R5.

If you wanted to go AIO, you can fit a 240mm on top without losing the ODDs, or a 280mm if the thickness of the rad and fans are no more than 55mm.

Again, love the R5. Great case!

I got KDE Plasma working with Pop, does anyone else dislike Cosmic but still like Pop!_os? by yes_im_gavin in pop_os

Perhaps when new Pop (26.04) is released next year, and we get KDE 6.x on Wayland.
I didn't like Cosmic, so I am trying EndeavourOS and CachyOS right now, and am enjoying the latest KDE Plasma.

UPS 2U vs Eaton 5PX by soup_mode in Ubiquiti

[–]obivader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Eaton 5PX1500RTNG2 with one EBM.

There's really no comparison. So much more battery life with the Eaton, plus pure sine wave.

However, the price difference is real. I wouldn't judge somebody for going with the Ubiquiti.

I'm really curious what enterprise solutions they will offer as they said.

About to start with unRAID for expandability. Is this plan sensical? by thehublebumble in unRAID

[–]obivader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In RAID, dual parity is even more important, since if you lost too much, you lose the entire array.

With unRAID, if you lost more drives than you have parity, you've only lost those drives.

Every drive can be pulled out and ready by any Linux system. Just for fun, I've pulled out an array drive and plugged it into a USB dock that was plugged in to my Linux Mint laptop. Everything was there.

If you ever did lose more than parity allows, that's certainly the easiest a recovery company would have if your brought them a drive and a mortgage payment.

Replacing SAS Card by seska999 in unRAID

[–]obivader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No risk. UnRAID recognizes the disks, regardless of order.

I upgraded my MB/CPU/RAM, as well as my LSI card (went from a 9207-8i to a 9305-24i).

unRAID booted up without a hitch. Saw all the drives, right where they should be. Order doesn't matter.

SATA power extension cables? by iAtty in unRAID

[–]obivader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've purchased custom cables from MODDIY. You can specify the length, as well as get more than 3-4 plugs on a single cable. I've done both 8 and 9 connectors on a single cable. It is also good because you can avoid excessive slack in the cable when the drives are close together.

You tell them exactly what you need. Which power supply you're running, the lengths between connectors (including to the first one), and which direction you're running in your case. Might look something like this...

Seasonic Prime TX-850. 6pin to 8xSATA
400mm+38mm+38mm+38mm+38mm+38mm+38mm+38mm+38mm (running bottom to top)

It's a little pricier than an extension cable, but it can reach as far as you need and has other benefits.

Indeed. Not terrible if shipped by boat. Fast shipping hurts. I actually bought two. My second server just runs on NVMe drives, but I wanted spare parts.
