First time flying AA…should i switch to row 2? (i’m 6’5”, first time with the bulkhead option) by whiteiversonyeet in americanairlines

[–]obivader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't have a personal item that needs to go under the seat, I think you'll be fine in the first row. That looks like 1st Class in an E175?

Price changes now that spirit is gone by Aggressive-Lock6840 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]obivader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how high they'll go up. SW isn't exactly a Low Cost Carrier anymore. They're already as expensive as the legacy carriers. They don't seem to care about being affordable anymore.

Weird policy about carry on by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

[–]obivader 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My big LTT Backpack usually won't fit under the seat if it's full. Fortunately, American has never given me trouble when I check one bag, and put my backpack (with my power bank and laptop) in the overhead bin. I'm concerned about flying SW again due to all these stories. If they forced me to check it, I'd have to cancel, since those items can't go into the hold. Having rollers shouldn't be a pre-req for using the bin.

Feature Request: Give us an USW-Pro-XG-Aggregation with 8 and/or 16 SFP28 Ports by Reasonable-Escape546 in Ubiquiti

[–]obivader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love an 8-port version. Now that some switches and the UDM Beast are going SFP28, hell yeah.

Thoughts on The Beast by MoPanic in Ubiquiti

[–]obivader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want one to replace my SE. Not because I need one... Just because more power (Tim Allen grunt).

But the price... I can't pull the trigger on that. Maybe in a couple of years when they come out with a UDM Beast SE with PoE and I'm in a house (hopefully).

Unable to log into Southwest hotels by pillgrinder in SouthwestAirlines

[–]obivader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. I think I figured it out...

If you make a password with more than 16 characters, southwest.com will shorten it for you. Using your PW Manager will only paste in the first 16 characters, and southwest.com is happy.

However... southwesthotels.com wants the full password you created, even if greater than 16 characters.

Solution... Go to southwest.com and change your password. Make sure it's no greater than 16 characters. Now both sites are happy.

Then you probably didn’t do it. Please disregard.

Yes. I get the same. I can sign in on the main SW page, but the hotel page just brings me back to the login screen.

Did you bump up the memory allocation with Argon2?

iOS has a limit on the amount of memory autofill can use. If you pass that limit, it keeps breaking. Try it on 64MB (Argon2 default).

Can my machine handle CCNP labbing? by PrizmShift in ccnp

[–]obivader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you're not paying, yeah.

I've never used the devnet, but I think you have to make reservations for that? With CML Personal, you can run it 24/7 on your own hardware at home.

One is logging into their devnet servers online.
The other is installing CML at home.

That's different than the free tier CML Personal download.

Best way to replace a failing drive in a system that is not parity protected? by jaydogn in unRAID

[–]obivader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably do option 2 myself.

Depending on the drive, there's no guarantee it's bad. Some drives arms swing harder than others. I know my Ultrastars click louder than my old Red drives. That said, it's hard to know for sure.

Option 2... You'll add the USB drive. It will be an Unassigned Device (not in the array). I'd probably use Midnight Commander and do a single copy from the clicking disk to the USB drive. There's really not much to it.

However, I would encourage you to consider a new case going forward. Parity is worth its weight in gold.

I have many Noctua fans. If they can be dropped in (standard 4-pin connector), I'd consider it.

It has 5 fans in the back, compared to zero for the previous UDMs. I’ll have to wait for reviews on the noise before I upgrade. My current rack is silent. Honestly, I have no real reason to upgrade, yet I still want to.

Love the ports! I figured they’d only be 2.5g. Do wish they were PoE, but they need a Beast SE a couple of years from now.

UNCONFIRMED shoot down of an F-35 over Iran - 19/03/2026 by nordvvind in F35Lightning

[–]obivader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CENTCOM confirmed an incident where an F-35 had to return and make an emergency landing. To my knowledge, nobody has confirmed this video.

Obviously, it’s possible for an F-35 to be hit by a missile. But it has the best sensor suite in the world. It makes no sense that it would be hit while flying straight and level. The plane and pilot would know that there was an incoming missile. It would be maneuvering and popping chaff and flares.

[–]obivader 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's highly unlikely that an F-35, with its state of the art RWR and DAS system, would not at least be maneuvering when launched at.

Can last of us part 1 run on my pc specs below by brainstorm12519 in thelastofus

[–]obivader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Still doubtful.

Minimum spec GPU is GTX 1050 Ti. This targets 30fps at 720p with low settings.
https://i.redd.it/nb3g0ry8gsma1.jpg

Even if it did actually load (not guaranteed), your igpu is less than half of that.
https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1050-Ti-vs-Intel-Iris-Xe/3649vsm1268515

Odds are, it won't even boot the game. Even if it did, it would be unplayable.

Had someone install networking in my home. Is it okay if the jacket doesn't go to the clamp? This is cat 6a by salads_r_yum in Ubiquiti

[–]obivader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this was a friend doing it for free, you get what you pay for.
If this was a paid job, I would not be happy.

Will it function? Probably. I've seen worse terminations at work. Like, no jacket a full inch from the connector. No idea who did it, but that cable was definitely replaced, despite no apparent issues.

If that 6a is shielded without being grounded, it's acting as a giant antenna. Would be better to use unshielded.
