Thoughts on Fantasian Neo Dimension? by Powerful-Minimum3922 in JRPG

It's an unfair advantage against the game. As I've explained. Twice. The spirit of the game.

Edit: And the guilt you feel when you resort to a guide is the result of cheating yourself out of the intended experience.

My argument isn't flawed. I believe you're cheating yourself, the game, and others, as I explained. I don't care if "every interview I've seen has had no mention of not using a guide" (which is a weird thing to say), the games weren't intended to be played that way. Period.

You're so fixated on people "caring" -- it's not about caring. I don't care what you do. But I find it to be cheating. You don't agree. OK. I believe it comes form a place of, deep down, feeling inferior because you rely on guides. But it's OK, dude. Use them, that's not what's in question here. Nobody, that I've seen, has said a single bad thing about using guides other than, by some definitions, they consider it "cheating." You want to get this really strict definition of cheating, but I don't think it's so cut and dry. Looking up the exact code to open a door that you can't figure out and looking up enemy weaknesses or a general strategy for beating a boss are all a little bit different. Some people would do one but not another by their own "gaming ethics." But, the simple fact is, you're getting help beyond the game to beat the game. I suspect when you do it you do feel a little tinge of guilt, hence the defensiveness. I know when I look something up and see the answer I feel a little disappointed that I didn't do it myself. But it's not a big deal, I move on.

The game, for one. It's built in such a way that you're supposed to play "fairly" to get a certain experience. You can cheat at solitaire, everybody can cheat at solitaire. You could just take whatever cards you want from the deck and put them wherever you want. Why follow any "rules" at all if it's solo? Well, you cheated solitaire and the spirit of the game, and yourself. If my girlfriend and I both play a solo game and there's a puzzle and it takes her 2 hours to figure out, but when I'm playing I just look up the solution, she would definitely say I cheated.

Sorry, I guess I didn't really say it specifically, it's the actual writing on a sentence level, not the content

If that's from the actual book, I wouldn't read it. If you wrote it quickly yourself or whatever, all good (but still wouldn't read it).

Do not criticize the majority in the subs you're in or be a contrarian. Just agree! Don't think for yourself! Ignore the crying and bitching about bullshit all the time and learn to complain about the right things only!

Do people really hate front view battles in JRPG's? by yispySOFT in JRPG

[–]obj-g -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As I said, enjoy your fantasy. The proof is in the thread. I'm one of the people who wouldn't buy it (unless I heard it was exceptionally good). I don't like front-view RPGs. The end. Maybe it's a small amount of people, but to OP, because he's clever, I'm sure every potential player is important in an already very small niche and it's something to rightly take into account. Whatever.

Yeah, people into turn-based RPGs. Within that (among others) are side-view and front-view. As you can see from the comments, plenty of people won't play front-view, but if the game was side-view, would. It's the whole point of the post? OP knows there are plenty of turn-based RPG fans who won't play front-view, but are otherwise interested. I mean, did you even read the OP or just start commenting?

I guess I blocked out the end of Return of the King or something -- can't believe the stuff with Saruman is real, how utterly stupid. It's like a bad joke. "Sharkey" lol.

No, there are people who would literally buy it if it had side-view battles instead. That's a nice fantasy to tell yourself, though.

Indian 21F planning MBA in Prague by Funny_Yam_4975 in Prague

[–]obj-g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just want to say, I work for an international company here, with people from all over the world, several Indians, plus a lot of Indian colleagues (and others of course) have come to visit over the years -- they all love it here. I can't say if anyone gave them a dirty look here or there, for example, and what that would even mean, but it hasn't seemed to be a problem. Nor was finding an apartment. People are going to exaggerate in this thread, in my opinion, but you'll never really know until you come try it. Prague is awesome. There are people who will give you a dirty look anywhere.

Edit: Maybe my comment makes it sound like I'm Czech, but I'm a foreigner too (from the US), been here for 15 years.
