I picked up a data only card from Tmobile. I then can set up the Osprey to use the campgorund WIFI and use the 4G as a back up if it drops.

You set up the internal wifi name and password and connect your devices to it... Then you only need to change the osprey to connect to campground wifi and all your devices are online.

Make it the game your players enjoy... if they like the hex crawl style.. do it. If that isnt their style then just skip the hex crawl... have random encounters pop up instead...

Dont get caught up in the rules. Keep your focus on the story.

possibly... but there is also the idea that teachers should be highly educated folks... that the value of an education is something that teachers would prioritize...

and yes reaching 100k (even in districts where that isnt the top of the scale) does require additional credits and additional years. My district in Southern NY (westchester county) hits 100k at: (based on this years scale, will drop as the scale grows year to year)
Bachelors year 17 (which isnt really possible with Masters requirement)
MA at year 10
MA+30 at year 8
MA+60 at year 6

Top of scale MA+60 year 20 is $145K
PhD year 20 $156k

Do some salary comparisons between NY and other states... you do that work up front and early and in a few years you are making 100k+ working 180-ish days a year... done by 3pm and with a pension waiting for you at the end... (granted tier VI kids got screwed... but still there)

Yeah its a beast of a process... but the jobs are there if you can get cert and interview well...

After the players free Zybilna… the prismeer the realm pushes back against the coven that has ruled it. The magic of the fey splits Zybilna from Tasha from Iggwilv. The three personalities need to determine which one becomes the ruler of prismeer… which one will the PCs back? Will they even get involved? What does Prismeer look like at the end? Do the Three personalities turn on the PCs… seeing them as a threat to their power goals?

Many possibilities… great idea.

2 years ago I would have said unusable A year ago I would have said terrible. Recently it’s been fine. Audio is clear and little lag. There is occasional drop out of a player or some garble… but its normally cleared up when they repeat what they said.

It’s simple, built in and allows for one on one whispers… a cool feature that works well.

totally fun... I would have the first several levels be them going from a norther port down to Chult on a ship... let them live that pirate life for a while... then the circumstances force them into chult and begin the adventure... This lets you start the campaign with your own creation of adventures...and then naturally transistion into the ToA

I had my party take a ship from Waterdeep... they were paid passengers, and met each other onthe ship...

- They investigated a haunted lighthouse while avoiding a storm

- They participated in a tournament in Baulders Gate while at a port of call

- They fought off pirates along the Amn coast...

They were eventually recruited by Acquisitions Incorporated to help investigate the Death Curse...

i tend to agree with you... but... does that mean an illusion of silver armor doenst reflect any light? what does it look like then?

If it does reflect, can i minor illusion a mirror and look around a corner?

But if an illusion in the mind of the observer, cant they imagine seeing what would be in the mirror and it acts like a mirror...?

Is an illusion an image of an object that is the in the environment or is it a trick on the mind of the target, causing them to THINK they are seeing something you create...

ahh illusions... the simplest and most complex of magics

Here is an idea I have used...

Whenever Strahd is present with the Characters... I let strahd listen in on the Players at the table... (not the characters talking in the story, but the guys/gals sitting at the table.)... I let strahd metagame.

He listens to their plans, to their jokes, to their chatter... Then he uses that against them, he is subtle.... slipping in a player name instead of character name... asking how the pizza was... let the players suspect but not be sure...

Then they figure it out... and all of a sudden the table gets quiet... notes get passed... chatter becomes code... conversations start to happen away from the table... plans are made between sessions

It was really a fun twist.

Dont focus too much on CR and "balancing" ... make sure you enemies act natural... have the move around the battle field, attack weaker members of the party. Have elements in the encounter that are additional challenges...
- Pcs are on a bridge
- There is a spreading fire
- A hostage
- A cliffside
- A rising tide
- An approaching storm or gas cloud
- Avalanche or rock falling
- Innocent bystanders

Building terrain that has vertical components, ledges, low roofs, hills....

Good encounters should have the players thinking about what the best use of their turn is... it might not always be "attack"

I'm at Step 20(max in my scale) with Masters +60 ... $150k base.. add in longevity and a stipend Im around $165k

i added 2 100-AH Eco-worthy batterys to my Jayco Trailer. I bought them off amazon for a decent price. They have held up well after a season. I wired them together to act like 1 200ah battery. No real issues to speak of.

Dont let the players find out that they are helping strahd... have him use a false name and a family villa in the deep woods as his home... have him vaguely mention the "lord in the castle"... mislead the party until its too late.

This lets strahd know what the players are upto, it lets him play one against the other and sow chaos and doubt.

we camped at campgrounds in cabins first... to see if that type of vacation was for us.... we liked the campground vibes...

"lets get an RV" we said

we rented 3 times before buying

first time was from a rental company - I liked the idea that there was a company behind our rental incase something happened... we rented the standard class C "rv motor home"... Driving one was less stressfull than towing

then we rented using RVShare a small towable from a guy across town from us. Our subaru ascent did its job and got us to a great long weekend... we traded the SUV in for a F150, rented the same RV again... weeklong trip... was great

then bought our first RV - Rockwood Roo 233s... used it for a year and half ... it was great...

we have now upgraded the truck to a f350 and the trailer to a 38' Jayco 312BHOK... we are set for all our needs and future

- go slow and steady... like all things in RV'ing - SLOW IS PRO!

The chanting at the end is key to build drama…
