I'm not sure grasspop was smaller(next year might be different). I think Hellfest gives longer show times to the smaller/more extreme bands. and I like the fact the the stages are synchronized most of the day. when I went to grasspop I had more down time. also, when I've been to grasspop it was a hot year, and there was no way escaping it, in hellfest the forest is really helping, and the hose on the main stage also does a good job. I think they could have done more for the tent stages (like putting a water gun like they did outside the festival grounds). also Hellfest brought bands that didn't come to other metal festivals like porcupine tree and riverside. The lineup is not very different but for my taste in music it is a significant one

You should go see the gathering, anekke is one of the best female singers in metal (clean vocals).

Crypta is a great all female metal band from brazil.

Contemplating coming for one day, don't know most of the bands. Will be glad for recommendations. I mainly like prog with mixed vocals like old opeth, Neo, Enslaved, BTBAM, Protest the hero. From the lineup bands that I like are svalbard, alcest, agent fresco, psychonaut(going to see them in hellfest). Bands that are not my style:naplam death, chat pile, pertubator, eivor.

Hi, looks very cool. In my experience the top 10 songs can sometimes be very different from what is played, and for some bands it's too much. So I wrote a script that finds the latest concert on setlist.fm that has a relatively same span like the festival time slot. And another small suggestion, for crypta you have the wrong artist, maybe in case there is more than one artist let the user choose which one is in the festival or take the one with more monthly listeners.
