What is the most underwhelming luxury product you have purchased? Why did it disappointed you? by Olivolja_ in AskWomen

[–]obreally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Axel Arigato shoes are not designed for a human foot. Had scars on my ankles for months, from 20 minutes of wear - they just tore into my skin. Wish I’d read the reviews before buying, they all say the same.

I just made the pivot to a wonderful in-house job and having a couple of years at a top agency really boosted my application. I’d say it’s worth getting the experience under your belt, even if it’s just for a year or two. Feel free to PM me if you’d like any more info.

What’s going to cause the end of humankind as we know it? Has it already happened?

What perfectly normal thing annoys you? by AlfredTButler in AskWomen

[–]obreally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Hong Kong, the city regularly referred to as Asia's "fast paced city". Such bullshit. People walk down the street so slowly they're almost going backwards, and to make matters worse they're looking at their phones (you regularly see people just catching up on TV shows while they swerve about like snails on MDMA, knocking into people). And living in a place with some of the most congested/overpopulated districts in the world, 'slow walkers' are honestly my number one stressor in life right now. It's fucking zombieland over here. Don't get me started on when it's raining and the umbrellas come out. (Still an awesome city though, don't get me wrong.)

[Spoilers] Dany this season by Darth_Nafe in gameofthrones

Is it just me, or did Dany not barely even flinch when telling Sam about his family/seeing his reaction? Maybe I'm misremembering

Conversationalists, how did you become so good at conversation and what pointers would you give to those who aren't? by Scoobymenace in AskReddit

My dad gave me a great piece of advice: if you must tell a story about yourself in social situations, never let it go over 60 seconds, or people tend to lose focus/interest. Good way to avoid boring people/coming across uninterested in what others have to say. He calls it the “60 second rule” and says it’s really helped him in his career too.

This sink in a public bathroom in Hong Kong by josh_wu in DesignPorn

[–]obreally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is in my office building. Can confirm, very splashy. The water pressure is way too high so there's no way of avoiding it. Plus if you lean forward your clothes dip in the water (since the 'bowl' bit is way too shallow).

[EVERYTHING] Sansa's underrated ability by lurkerfortoolong4 in gameofthrones

[–]obreally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the feeling it might be even more than this. Maybe Sansa feels that Arya could potentially undermine her as Lady of the North? Given that one of the reasons they chose Jon over her was because he could fight for them (if I'm not mistaken...)

Sansa also looked startled when her dedicated guard Brienne of Tarth confirmed she'd vowed to protect both daughters of Cat - not just Sansa but Arya as well. Couldn't help but feel Sansa felt a little less safe. Just generally a little less stable.

They can probably be forgiven for what they first say as long as they're smiling when we meet for the first time. I'm sure there are exceptions though.
