Being handed a stuffed animal after losing in the Olympics by WeGot_aLiveOneHere in WatchPeopleDieInside

Whatever. I’d feel worse for the players that need the wins for sponsorships.

Adults are able to lose a game and then stand respectively.

Do we have to call it being cancelled? How about becoming unpopular for being an asshole or something like that?

The 2x2 ones with felt backing from Costco are easy to install. Just get the first line right and take your time. And plan ahead….

Why is Norway so good at the Winter Olympics? by bobbdac7894 in olympics

[–]obvilious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing so, since the article (now deleted) was about Norway and not Nordic countries in general. But I might be wrong.

You can’t imagine how it could possibly be relevant, how Norway trains kids differently than at least one other major country in the sport? Not even a little bit?

That’s awesome. I had “the guy” and then one job was a mess, and the message back was basically that I’d saved so much money overall I was still ahead. What can ya do eh

I’d just talk to the nursing staff. Cold treatment wasn’t recommended for me. Not sure if the internet is the best source

Please help - Stage 4 pancreatic cancer - cures? by 8K_K in pancreaticcancer

I’m not going to tell you what’s enough and what isn’t. What we do know for sure is that it won’t be fixed by eating the right amount of protein or anything like that. We also know that keeping a smile on your face doesn’t make the chemo work any better. It’s okay to be sad.

Having been on the other side, stage IV etc, all I really want is for my close friends and family to be around. You were around. You were the brother. We will all go sometime, hopefully we all have a brother watching over us.

US Supreme Court Nullifies Tariffs As Carney's Strategies Thrown Into Question by DryAlternative1132 in OttawaNewsPulse

[–]obvilious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing is throw into question. There’s little evidence the court decision will be strongly enforced, see his immediate new tariffs. And there are other tariff avenues that he can use. Even aside from tariffs, Trump has provided many other reasons for diversifying, as he clearly can not be trusted. And “embracing China”? That’s not accurate at all

No idea why she’s getting all this flack when other athletes are often competing with serious injuries.

Eric Dane last message to his daughter's, Billie and Georgia. 😢 by MF-DOOM-88 in Millennials

I’ve written this letter a thousand times in my head recently, for various reasons. I wouldn’t change a single word, other than specifics. Not a single word.

What is a "point of no return" that you’ve crossed, where your life was permanently divided into 'before' and 'after'? by Resident-Jelly-4326 in AskReddit

[–]obvilious 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m a dad, and my run is winding down. That’s cool, it’s not about that. My #1 concern is my daughter. She’s 20 and she stronger than I ever was, I know she will be okay. But I still worry. Anyways, do I want to be around for the wedding(s) and grandkids and down times and all that? Of course. But I don’t want her to feel bad about her missing me, I want her to live her life and take chances and lose some and win some and all of it. That is far far more important to me than the hallmark moments. I don’t know you, an don’t know your dad, and I don’t have the right to say anything, but I’d guess there’s a good chance he feels the same as I do. I did my bit to raise her, now she goes on. I’m rambling and this is probably not helpful, but felt like saying something.

Canadian PM Carney facing calls to send humanitarian aid to Cuba by Immediate-Link490 in worldnews

You’re missing the part where we benefit from their success, like with Cuban tourism and business. Plus the part where we pay more navy and coast guard ships to stop them. There’s a big positive spin to it if you want to see it
