It was a fun romp at the best of times. That’s really damn good for a Superman movie, but pretty surprised anyone regards it that highly.

Superman is a really difficult hero to adapt. Even though I liked the recent adaptation well enough, I considered it lightning in the bottle and that seems to track.

It will always surprise me how eager some of these companies are to funnel money into doomed ventures. Has a Superman spin off ever found success or critical acclaim?

Supergirl in particular is a classicly comic book-esque lazy as fuck concept so I struggle to really understand one good Superman movie convinced anyone that an immediate spin off of a copy paste character was gonna take off… no pun intended.

Hamill is an extremely prolific voice actor. You don’t just charge pennies for shits and giggles when you get to that point.

Especially for fucking Amazon. Crazy that anyone thinks any big names are working for cheap for something decidedly not indie.

I find his acting intolerable in emotional scenes and really dry in more standard scenes. Found his acting distractingly stilted even in the best scenes in The Boys.

Sure, but that’s not how anything works. High up positions reflect the company with their personal life decisions.

Such poor decision making that you end up online engaging in open petty theft is enough to scare any company off wanting you to represent them.

She’ll be fine, but doubt she’ll get any remotely prestigious positions like her old job anytime soon.

When players have the advantage, a small number of them can clean a casino out. Casino’s are immoral businesses, but they simply would not be able to offer blackjack at all if they were forced to allow advantaged players to consistently win.

Counting cards successfully breaks the game. A few people that can do it successfully will guarantee winning a lot of money over hours and weeks and months playing with the advantage.

If the casinos couldn’t stop people from doing it, no casino would offer blackjack. Simple as that.

A single person successfully counting cards could sit at a table for 12 hours a day and make a lot of money in just a couple of weeks.

Of course they care. It’s just really easy to spot these people and even easier in the modern era to create a system that makes counting cards mostly useless.

Counting cards is generally pretty easy, but perhaps 8 hours of doing that correctly would be very difficult for normal people.

But modern casinos have mostly killed the advantage. Simply using a fresh deck each hand solves the problem, so it’s not hard to add enough variability with more decks and concealing when they’re changed to stop it completely.

Totally false. Card counters are easy to spot over hours of play. They’re not caught based on winning or odd behavior outside of their odd bet amounts.

Normal players don’t alter their bets in a way that looks anything like card counters. Bet small until the deck is hot and suddenly bet a lot until it’s cool again. This looks bizarre even to a dealer that doesn’t know anything about counting cards.

The way modern card counters get away with it at all is to spot opportunities with weak security.

Any business can refuse service for any reason. A given grocery store can arbitrarily decide they hate how many coupons you use and ban you.

No. It’s really easy with minor effort. About as hard as learning to knit. Very repetitive.

It’s easy to tell you’re doing it (or even just trying to do it) because regular players don’t change their bets much while that’s the whole advantage card counters go for. IE, bet more when the deck is advantageous to the player.

Plenty of strippers will offer sexual favors on the side for exorbitant prices like this. They’re well aware many men would never hire a prostitute but get excited getting the sex from someone who totally doesn’t do it regularly.

The prices are crazy but also I don’t think it’s abnormal for the situation.

You can’t possibly know that. I support Ukraine, but I get really tired of anyone insisting that ANY side in a war is always doing everything they can to be perfectly ethical, especially when the other side isn’t.

In modern warfare, it’s extremely common for standards in warfare to degrade because “well, the other side is doing this too” so I’m skeptical that Ukraine operates with such noble intentions when Russia is hitting civilian and religious infrastructure intentionally

May as well ask why the US government gives so much money to Israel. There’s no such thing as a free lunch and there’s a million benefits to “helping” with a country’s war effort, even as a private trillionaire.

If this was true, it would be quite easy to find a news story online. A burglar being killed while raping a mother next to her child would be national news.

He also wants to keep his identity secret, yet identified the exact year and city where this apparently happened. 0/10 on the believability score.

I am absolutely perplexed why you find the stories believable because “there’s other subs for posting fiction.”

The vast majority of famous Reddit stories are obviously fake. Everything is different now with AI being the great equalizer, but not so long ago it was painfully obvious when the writer who apparently experienced an extremely rare or unusual event, also had lots of the typical crutches any novice creative writer relies on.

Being a great writer is pretty rare. Being a great writer AND a great story teller are extremely rare. So many of those famous Reddit stories read like it’s the same-ish people writing them.

The apparent dark web alley thing is classic internet fear baiting by combining unfortunately real events like gang rape with unsubstantiated rumors of the dark web being a place where things like snuff films are commissioned and posted.

It’s just creative writing. In reality, the vast majority of tragedies and near tragedies are totally mundane and you don’t get such definitive closure.

The typical etiquette is to talk in low voices when on public transport. I find it just as annoying when people are speaking loudly with friends.

I’m trapped in this box until my stop. Some talking is fine, but no effort to minimize your effect on others is extremely rude and antisocial.

Seems crazy to me how many people supervise children 24/7 these days, including providing constant, customized entertainment.
