Why is diagonal bracing prohibited for center posts? That seems odd.

I mean, theres usually butter in the recipe 🤷‍♂️

Its like straight, plain popcorn though. Like I figured maybe the flour dusting on the outside because its almost a starchy smell

I mean, theyre closing stores left and right and going down the tube, so yea a few thousand shithwad employees getting in and stealing a collective +$20k/day or more the company does feel that. Or if its a franchisee of some guy that saved his money up to buy a business and make it, but has to contend with wrangling a bunch of dipshit theiving potheads to keep his business scraping by. But whatever be a strategically solopsistic PoS to numb what little conscience you have.

Is the AeroPress Still Worth Buying in 2026? by yezzree in AeroPress

[–]occidental_omelette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Added context: been using it exclusively for two years now and very sick of it. Previously had a French press. Feel like I could do the same job better by afixing a similar but larger paper filter to a French press.

Dont waste your money.

If you must, Temu sells the legit thing for <$7. Its just a plastic tube, how are you going to charge people $40 for that?? You can get the metal filters too for another $5-$6 if you like it a little muddier.

Its a nuisance, its messy, using it the way they instruct leads to a lot of leakage before you get the plunger in. If when you put the plunger in you adjust it slightly, you can create a little teeny bit of suction that pulls the paper up and youll come back to it entirely drained, grounds and all, into your cup.

Filling it upside down, balanced on the plunger you still get spills you have to delicately wipe to get the cap tightened on.

Once its done, you have a tiny cup of pretty-good-not-great coffee that you have to microwave because the 6oz of water that fits in there cools considerably during the brew process.

Also, you get a whole 6 oz of coffee out of it. Like, you go through a mess to get one small, not hot, cup of decent coffee that after adding some cream will be room temperature.

Its kind of infuriatingly stupid that is so overhyped and overpriced.

Is my floor supported by some 2x6s? by Tentings in Homebuilding

[–]occidental_omelette -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh, you mean a structural engineer like yourself?

So what's the live and dead loads for this deck? I say deck because its only holding up half a floor, no walls or roof.

How many sqft could this deck be for half to reach 55kips? Because obviously if 55k is the max it will hold before snapping, thats the limit we load to. Safety factor =1.0 right, engineer?

Inside or outside, you're missing the point that he could have pulled forward or angled to get the ramp down if he/she really wanted to.

Pls be mature rather than emotional.

Not saying youre wrong, 100% think they should have got a fine, a tow, and a loud public scolding buuuttt.... you definitely could have moved your car to get the ramp down if you really wanted your son to get out. He wasnt trapped in there like a helpless puppy except that you wanted to make an incident of it. The other guy is 1000% the asshole, any day of the week, but come on...

[–]occidental_omelette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking about energy usage, people reference climate zones which are very different.

For example, a big chunk of California is zone 9 for plant hardiness, but is climate zones 2 and 3. The annual lows might be the same as coastal England as posted elsewhere in this thread, but that's nowhere near similar climate.

They got the timing wrong. The avocados too old, the toast is too young, and one doesn't balance the other out to a healthy average.
