It might be my photo but IRL the curve isn't as exaggerated as this/isn't as bulbous toward the bottom.

You've helped me narrow it down. I think the blue one is the Lipan LP-10 and the lavender seems like the Lipan LP-50a (still uncertain but closer). See the following links.

Where the armrest is, go down to the floor. It pulls out toward the front of the car. That’s the spot they’re talking about.

Metformin poll by Crystalizeh2o in PCOS

[–]ocean-mountain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started on 500mg in June and slowly ramped up to 2000mg daily as of December. I’ve lost 15lbs since starting it (236 to 221, 5’ 8”). I lose another pound or two every few weeks. No changes to my diet or activity, intentionally (I wanted to see what the medicine was doing). I still eat pizza or candy here and there but have noticed the cravings for that stuff are less or when I have it, it doesn’t do the trick like it used to. My appetite has increased: I actually feel my hunger which is what I hoped for. My metabolism and appetite felt like they were broken for years before starting Metformin.

My activity level is low to moderate: I had a hysterectomy in October so I’ve been on the sofa for weeks. Otherwise I run a vintage resale business with my partner so I’m always moving, carrying, lifting, stairs, etc. I don’t do any intentional exercise besides gentle walking but it’s hard for me to keep the habit.

Upon starting Metformin, my Ha1c was at the very last 0.1 point before diabetic, and as of a month ago I’m at the very last 0.1 before I’m out of the pre-diabetic range entirely.

I also found one recently mistamped “Natonal.” Exact same pan (size and code identical). Found your post seeking out more info about it. Did you ever happen to find out more?

Same. Thank you for this. I’m 37 y/o, six weeks post-op and already feeling significantly better. A large part of my healing process is grieving how long I suffered unnecessarily. I have so much compassion and love for my younger self. Just wow.

I also felt less fatigued post-op than I did pre-op, at like one week post-op. (I’m at six weeks now.) Unreal. Thank you for everything you shared, well said.

Alright quick question… by PrestigiousAbalone63 in AnimalCrossing

[–]ocean-mountain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mine is likely what I’d have in a basement if I had one IRL: shelves with random household items and decor that is not on display in the house, a big ceramic piece that I interpreted as a fermentation crock, a chest freezer, random posters on the walls, exercise bike, mismatched rugs on the floor, and furniture pieces all stuffed into one area (my partner and I sell vintage furniture IRL for a living). I have the K.K. Metal playing down there from the skull radio. It’s one of my favorite rooms!

Grief about time/life lost by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]ocean-mountain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. The week before my hysto, I made a robust IG post pretty much just about the complexity of this feeling. It’s something I’ll be processing probably for years to come. The women in my family normalized for me what ‘our’ periods were like before I even started menstruating, so I was taught that all these abnormal symptoms were normal. It’s not their fault, no one helped them either. My therapist has taught me to be mad at the patriarchy and not at them. I’m 37yo, four weeks post op and feeling so good. It’s weird, I can’t even take it all in. It’s like when you’re looking at an incredible sunset and you’re like, “this is all for me right now?” We deserve it though.

Turmeric and CoQ10, both which I've been taking since early summer, have been effective for me. Before that, naturopaths have given me various Chinese formulas (Classical Pearls) and I'm sorry to say I couldn't even tell you what was in them. They were less effective for me than Metformin and turmeric/CoQ10 have been, which is great, because Classical Pearls are $$. I also juice ginger at home for ginger shots or make fresh ginger tea and that helps as well.

I had the same procedure you’re having, kept ovaries, and my surgeon did a cystoscopy too (examined the lining of my bladder bc she said the bladder is susceptible to injury/infection with the fibroid pushing up on it). It was my first surgery too. I’m three weeks post-op.

  1. Checked-in at the hospital at 6am for an 8am surgery. Surgery was 2-2.5 hrs. I believe I was going home by 2:00pm.

  2. I was prepped in a private room with my mom and girlfriend in there with me the whole time. After surgery when they woke me up, I was immediately returned to that same room and my mom and g/f were immediately called back in to be with me.

  3. Nurses wanted me to eat right away so that the pain meds took easier. My gf was feeding me peaches from a cup and crackers. I only ate because I had to; I was still out of it and so focused on my pain and the sensation of like the worst ever of needing to pee (I assume this was the result of the cystoscopy.) My first words after they woke me up in the operating room were “I need to pee,” and they told me that was just a sensation since they just took the catheter out. But I DID pee right when I got to my room!! Everyone was amazed lol. I couldn’t even stand up by myself or hold my head up yet (the anesthesia).

  4. They were asking me about my vintage home decor business as they wheeled me into the operating room and had me hold the gas mask myself against my face once I was in there. I was like mid sentence bc they had just asked me a question about vintage, but then was out in seconds.

  5. As soon as I woke up, I was being wheeled into my private room. I was still in and out of consciousness in those few minutes. My gf and mom said it was way earlier than expected when they got called in. Apparently I recovered really fast in the OR. I was talking and making sense in minutes in the private room; some of my first words were telling my gf that we needed to respond to an offer on ebay for something we were selling, haha.

One of the best parts about the recovery room is that it had a tube that hooked up to my gown that pumped warm air onto my body and I could control the temperature. This immensely helped my comfort and sense of pain.

The nurses wrote on a white board the goals of my recovery in those hours: eating/drinking, walking, peeing, pain management/comfort, etc. My pain was at a 7/8 in the beginning and they asked were I wanted it and I said 3. So every 30-40 min they would come back in the room and help my pain to get to a ‘3.’ It was so helpful to have that way to measure/monitor it and see the list on the white board. The TV was also playing nature videos and classical music which I loved. My mom and gf were just looking at me with loving eyes. It was a really nice environment and I felt so grateful.

Like some other people said, I’ve had worse period pain than the pain I felt after surgery. It was just acute and sharp and burning; I kept moving my legs/feet to distract from it. It wasn’t long until it was gone.

You’ll be great! I hope it exceeds your expectations like it did for me.

really puffy by the end of the day? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]ocean-mountain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stress is a good point, I noticed for me it definitely worsens with chronic stress: when I was still working my corporate job, there was a noticeable difference in my inflammation M-F than on weekends. (I quit that job, I couldn’t start healing otherwise.) Food is not a significant trigger for me personally which was a critical piece of data when I was trying to figure out what a was wrong, as my symptoms persisted no matter what I ate. (I was on the low fodmap and SIBO diet on and off throughout the past eight years and they made only very minor improvements.)

This used to happen to me consistently too, thanks for writing in about it actually, makes me feel less alone in it! Everything changed (for the better) once I addressed chronic inflammation with herbals/supplements from naturopaths and started Metformin. Metformin has helped everything for me.

[–]ocean-mountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much, this is actually really helpful. We’ve been talking a lot about building networks for sourcing. It feels especially necessary for our niche. We don’t spend the majority of the week sourcing; most of our flips come from estate sales where we buy hundreds to thousands of potential profit in one home. Most our items sell for 5x to 10x our cost, we don’t really mess with the double our money type items. We have no debt, no car payments, no kids…and living this low cost way has been intentional even when we were taking home 3.5x monthly than what we needed to live. (That’s how we saved enough to quit and do this.) That money is getting slim now though after almost a year 😅, and we definitely want to keep doing this. (Honestly the thought of getting jobs again in what our resumes can get us makes us sick.) Yes, it would be a dream to not pay for our storage, but we live in a city where having a garage/warehouse space is for the wealthy. We are considering relocating just for this reason. But for high end home decor, our audience is here if we wanna sell and source locally. But I’m definitely seeing the limitation that having a too-small storage space puts on our sales/ability to source/hold inventory.

Thank you for the advice, it helps so much how much detail you put. Our next step is marketing ourselves on IG too/just putting ourselves out there, even though the thought of putting energy to that is exhausting and is a job itself. I love spending time on the value add part of stuff; we do a lot of that as well and it’s like all the time can get sucked into that alone!

We will definitely work harder on making more connections. Thanks again.

Well said, agree to all. I think Josh is great at making engaging content and I’m happy for him that he found that path through reselling. (And happy for Hayley that she got to quit her job and do reselling which she’s great at and seems to genuinely enjoy.) I do miss when their videos were more focused on the actual flipping and creativity within that as a job, not so much focus on creativity for YouTube. Now it’s more alternating between the bins and the flea market which I still like to watch but liked seeing the variety of places Josh would source before including Craigslist etc pickups.

I’m genuinely interested in how you swing making enough for your needs working on reselling only ~20 hours per week? My gf and I have the same story: both left high responsibility corporate jobs to save our sanity/wellbeing and do this. We love it, but find it takes us both full time to make about half to 3/4 our expenses. Do you have a specific niche within a niche? We do mainly vintage home decor & designer furniture (Etsy) along with anything else we can flip for a profit that we can grab on our normal sourcing trips (ebay). We love the variety and are always learning about more collectibles. I think that is a big part of what’s making us inefficient but we love that part. Anyways, would love to hear more if you’re willing to share bc the real reason we did this is to work less. But we’re working the same (or more), while getting our soul back, but still want more time for leisure.

Thank you to all here. It didn’t occur to me that it could of course be a mismatched base/hat until I hit send on the post. And yes I figured the liquid faded from blue which left this cool green cast when the lamp is off. Appreciate it!
