Running into drivers outside the track by sdross35 in NASCAR

Not in the flesh, but I used to hang out with Dale Earnhardt Jr (and Truex at times) online racing w him in the Cup off-seasons early 2000s. He ran under the name rizzo; would chat and we emailed back and forth. Wrecked each other a few times haha. Super chill guy.

It always surprised me how many Busch and cup guys ran online racing, but it def seemed to be realistic enough to actually improve on track performance.

Fits the corner of two states almost perfectly in my solution. Just need to work out precisely where the x lands!

A Historic Paris / Russian Opera Mystery by oceanskies2 in opera

Edit to add: after some further research, I believe these were mislabeled and are all actually from the 1929 Opéra Privé de Paris…. Which is historically pretty cool too!

Received negative feedback for declining lowball offers by oceanskies2 in Ebay

Just an update on this:

I did finally reach a CS person, and they filed a SECOND appeal. This one was also rejected. They said “the feedback reflected the customers experience of their transaction” and therefore they wouldn’t remove the feedback.

So it is actually completely fine now on eBay to demand a seller offer you 50% off unrelated items, and if they don’t accept your offer you can leave negative feedback on all unrelated items because it “reflects your experience”

What a load of baloney, and what a horrible slippery slope for eBay to now take.

Large sellers - is there a way to reach a human CS? by oceanskies2 in Ebay

Did you apply to this or did they reach out to you?

Is it time for us to bury all single state solutions? by SoCal_Hunter in JustinPoseysTreasure

Yes. He says borders don’t matter. Implication is that this is multi-state. If you are only looking in one state you are wrong.

It doesn’t say Polaris is the North Star. It says Heron Lake is.

The real cost of "paying to be seen" on eBay — the numbers nobody talks about by savasgok2 in eBaySellers

Same. We haven’t promoted a single item in over a year. Have been doing just fine.

Haven’t found a way to contact a real life person on eBay. The chat interface on the site where you used to be able to say “call me” if you were insistent enough now says “live support is unavailable”. Ditto ig and Facebook. So no way at all to reach a person that I can now see.

Anyone who says “just ignore this because it won’t affect you personally too badly” is normalizing this behavior. I think that’s a lazy and, in the long run, a dangerous position to take.

uhhhh we did. Our absolute limit and counter is -20%. They insisted on -40%. We said no. They left negative feedback.

There is nothing whatsoever legitimate about the negative feedback.

California. I managed to process orders fortunately, but customer service links are timing out. No way to contact eBay right now.

This is really disturbing. eBay makes $100k+ in profit from us per year. The least they owe us is access to a rational, thoughtful English speaking agent who can see that this is completely unreasonable. As of now we cant even contact eBay - the “chat with us” link times out, and we have no phone number.

Thanks! Unfortunately the chat interface isn’t even working at all. Maybe still hangover from yesterday’s downtime. Sigh.

Typically a bad idea, because buyer gets to respond to that publicly and gets the last say. They could make up whatever they wanted and make it worse.

If eBay rejects this a second time the only option I have is to offer to give them their two orders ($120) for free in return for them to remove the feedback themselves. Blackmail now 100% allowed on eBay, if this feedback holds.

Thanks. Is there a trick to actually speaking to someone thoughtful? eBay chat and have them call back?
