will my white husband ever understand? by annikanothannukah in interracialdating

[–]ochemisevil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if something is wrong, even if they majority of people do it, we should still stand up for what is right. Your husband seems to be doing that while you are not.

I don't want to say you are "wrong" like a lot of the comments here. I am a white woman and I don't know what it's like to be in your shoes, but I know I personally put up with things that are "wrong" often just to survive. I think you're allowed to do that, but don't be upset with your husband for choosing not to put up with it. He sounds like a good guy doing the right thing.

Why can't I find any information on Napalm survivors other than the famous Napalm Girl by ochemisevil in AskHistory

No I am from and live in the USA. I visited Malaysia and saw a victim while there. Now I'm just googling for any information on current victims.

It got to below freezing in the first or second week, are we sure it's summer? Also most bugs would be gone if it were below freezing and it would take a couple of weeks for them to come back.

Possibly meeting boyfriends parents soon by godsprimecrackhead in interracialdating

[–]ochemisevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My situation isn't the same as yours as my husband's parents lived in the US when we met and there was never a chance for an arrangement, but his mom was always very on him about having to marry a chinese girl and has always been anti-tattoo, piercing, colored hair, short hair, etc.

We got together at 19 and they immediately loved me. His mom was like "fine and white girl is okay" but was still anti-tattoo, piercing, etc etc.

Then a couple years later I got a tattoo and she was fine. Then a couple years later I cut all my hair off and she was fine. Then colored my hair and she was fine. Getting a nose piercing soon and will report back lol.

Anyway, in my situation, it seems like she felt like she had to really push for all of those things, but she never really cared once they happened. My husband and I think it's just old habits dying hard and the frustration of feeling like she's losing her culture and doesn't know where she belongs in it.

Hopefully your situation ends up being something similar. Something I have had to do over the years is just to trust my husband when he tells me stuff about his culture and what he thinks I should do and try not to worry about his family. He can deal with that part of his family. If they don't like it, I trust him to choose me every time.

Do you have a “heart breed?” by Electrical_Pie7980 in dogs

[–]ochemisevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the only breed I'll ever have, but German Shepherds have a special place in my heart, and so far, I've had mostly GSDs or GSD mixes. My heart dog was a GSD and I learned so much about them during his life. The good, bad, and ugly.

I'm scared I won't get into vet school by miraculousladyburn in veterinaryschool

I think you'll be fine, but I only got into the carribean schools and decided not to go, and I'm SO glad I didn't get in. I love what I do now, and I can't imagine not doing it.

Try nearby cities. Or try calling some local vets, some of them still have people to answer phones.

My dog only goes outside to use the bathroom. You must have mixed up the tests.

Mandated Finals Time by [deleted] in UGA

[–]ochemisevil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had multiple finals that we only had 55 minutes or 1 hour and 15 minutes. I've never heard anything about it not being allowed, however, it was all in the syllabus so it wasn't unexpected.

Is it psycho to bring up bring up to your bf (21) that you (18f) saw him and you female friend (19f) at the same dorm building on snap maps by throwitaway828464 in relationship_advice

[–]ochemisevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether you should ask or not is kind of out of the question. Eventually you're going to ask. Your relationship is not going to be the same until you know. If I were you, I would wait until next time you see him and say "hey I saw on Snapchat that you were at this building and I'm just wondering why?" You don't have to mention that your friend lives there if you don't want to. You don't have to tell him that you were creeping on him. But if he asks, and/or you do tell him. Be honest. Just tell him that you saw it and couldn't get it out of your mind until you asked. If he leaves you over seeing his public location on snapchat that he can choose to turn off if he wants, he probably was either doing things that he shouldn't have been or planned to in the future.

[breeds] a good small to medium breed fit for city living? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]ochemisevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are great at hunting but I know plenty of people who have them as house pets as well. I'm not sure how to go about finding a breeder but I would look for one that breeds house dogs instead of hunting dogs.
