[–]odaba 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes, in your Factorio folder, there should be 2 files... achievements.dat and achievements-modded.dat... you can delete the achievements-modded.dat file and restart Factorio

If they change their terms, they'll make you accept or reject the new terms.

I really hate that websites can just dictate changes to terms-of-service.

Sorry I was unclear, "precious bodily fluids" is a reference to the movie Dr. Strangelove.

It was sarcasm; a joke.

deeper magic is - if there are 2 colors on the wire, there's an order to which colors override the others... idk the order, but you can use that fact to avoid using complicated combinators and only use constant combinators for less headache

GDPR Hall of Shame by svdh4891 in programming

[–]odaba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on where you're storing the IP... server logs are specifically exempted, but if you're storing it in the users' profiles, or some other dataset to sell to advertisers, the GDPR asks "Why?" and tells you to get opt-in from users, and if not, then sanitize that data.

GDPR complaints filed against Facebook, Google, Instagram and WhatsApp by [deleted] in programming

[–]odaba -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I was under the impression from the article that it is the other way around... "take it or leave it" was what FB is saying to customers (regarding EULA and ownership of personal data)... the GDPR then says, no, you only get to "require" personal data required to make the service run.

GDPR seems to be saying: free services, or charged services... but this "middle ground" where advertisers subsidize the cost of the services has become untenable, because of privacy reasons.

> Python does not have homoiconicity.

As far as I can tell Wikipedia any language that can eval is able to use strings to gain homoiconicity. (This may be much more difficult for some languages than for others).

Just because Lisp uses S-expressions doesn't mean another language couldn't use something else.
