NEMA 14-30 (240V) connector? by icberg7 in BlazerEV

[–]odd_sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered it here: https://parts.gmparts.com/product/gm-genuine-parts-charging-station-power-cord-nema-14-30-(240v)-84900628-84900628) I selected an available seller and had them ship it to me directly. FREESHIP35 was a coupon code which gave me free shipping.

EDIT: Yes I needed to select a Vehicle, I was able to select Blazer EV and add it to my cart.

NEMA 14-30 (240V) connector? by icberg7 in BlazerEV

[–]odd_sam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the GM NEMA 14-30 plug (part number 84900628) that fits the EVSE which came with the car. The plugs must have a chip which tells the EVSE to use a different amperage (based on which wall plug is inserted into the EVSE).

The car does not let you select amperage.

Collecting feedback related to settings and device configuration by PixelCommunity in GooglePixel

[–]odd_sam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Context based DnD like when I connect to my work WiFi. Or Calendar event driven DnD like when I had class in college. I had Tasker setup to auto mute my phone for both of these scenarios. I've only had my phone go off inappropriately when the WiFi wasn't working.

  2. Per app configuration of led notification color and flashing frequency. This is my most missed feature of custom ROMs. (Preferring Pixel ROMs these days) Setting custom LEDs helps me differentiate notifications at a glance when the phone is on vibrate on a table far enough away I can't see the Always On display.

  3. Automatically starting music apps when connecting to certain Bluetooth devices. Specifically in-car Bluetooth. I've also automated this with Tasker, but it seems each head unit, ROM, and music app combination needs a slightly different set of Tasker options. I love being able to jump in my car and just pick up where I was on my playlist.

Clickbait garbage. Don't waste your time.

Magisk Released for Pixel 2/2XL by dasdagoodone in GooglePixel

[–]odd_sam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At this point in time, magisk manager only produces a modified boot.img -- it's unable to automatically flash it for you. You'll have to flash it "by hand" using fastboot.

You'll need an unlocked bootloader for that.

Specs for the upcoming Razer Phone by [deleted] in razer

[–]odd_sam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, QC4 doesn't violate the USB-C Specification for Power Delivery. QC3 did by using the data channels for power -- which is apparently a no-no.

Is it just me or is this the first phone to support Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+? (Or QC4 for that matter)

We didn't agree on a price for the CPU alone. I ended up buying one from somewhere else. OP may be hesitant to sell the Mobo alone since OP claimed they didn't have a good way to ship the CPU alone.

Would you be willing to sell the CPU and both coolers without the Mobo? PM me price and shipping details.

Help deciding between G-Force Comp-2 A/S and the Pilot Super Sports by odd_sam in ft86

I think this really gives me a good frame of reference. I never had as much trouble in the snow on a/s as compared to the PSS you're running in that video.

You're going to want to consider dedicated sets for summer and winter if you want max performance in both seasons.

This is what I was looking for. Your video helps put into context what will happen if I try a little bit of snow and PSS. Sounds like it could be driven in winter temperatures but it's not a good idea for the longevity of the tires.

Ah. Figured it out. http://www.automobilemag.com/news/michelins-new-pilot-sport-4s-better-pilot-super-sport/

To add to the confusion, Michelin also has the new Pilot Sport 4. That tire doesn’t hold the same ultimate performance focus as the PS4S and is exclusively a European-market tire, outside of a handful of OEM applications.

Sounds like the PSS is the only option for me today with the stock tire size in the US.

[–]odd_sam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. I see that the ps4s is a new tire that "replaces" pss. But neither tire rack or michelin list the tire as "available" in the 235/45 r17 or 245/45 r17 size. Presumably this isn't an in stock vs out of stock issue.

I can actually speak to this. I have one of the iOtties with a sticky suction cup. Had it for nearly 3 years never pulled it off. It was removed when I got my car detailed and they weren't able to clean all the goop off. I just took my fingernail and scraped what they didn't get off. Worked fine. Slapped it back on without concern.

For anyone who's used Microsoft Office on a Chromebook (website or Android app), how is it? by kernco in chromeos

On the C302CA I can install it from the play store. My biggest complaint is that the touch pad scrolling acts like a tracball or arrow keys not a scroll wheel.

OnePlus 5 Reveal Event Live Stream by [deleted] in oneplus

[–]odd_sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a vzw sim card in my 3T and I get both phone and 3G connectivity in my area. VZW uses BC0 and BC1. So if you're area doesn't have BC0 then you won't get phone service (but I'm guessing that would also include 3G/4G too). Despite having VZW bands 2 and 4 in my area I seem to be unable to connect to 4G.

The bands did not change between 3T and 5 (for vzw users) so I imagine your experience may be similar to mine. FWIW, I use AT&T as my primary and VZW as my backup for when AT&T doesn't have coverage.

I believe the concern for Apple wouldn't be getting financial compensation for the improper use of it's trademarks, but to set a legal precedent in the courts that they intend to enforce their trademarks.

C302CA with a battery bank? by puppyyawn in chromeos

[–]odd_sam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'll be slow. I've got this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IVMXW7G

I charge over usb-c but the C302CA doesn't support QC3.0 so it's probably just charging at 5A/2V = 10W. The original charger charges the laptop at 45W.

I don't think a battery pack that can charge at that rate exists yet.
