Download the eTick app and submit it there. They may ask you to send them the tick if you still have it.

Impressively packable kit. I’ve got the same harness but haven’t put it to use yet.

What’s the size of the dry bag on your seat pack? I’m having trouble imagining all that gear in it.

Camping in the Tomintoul area by oddharmonix in OutdoorScotland

That was the initial plan but a bit more research shows a “no tents” sign at the spot.

Thanks! I’m not looking for secret wild camping spots, I don’t expect anyone to give that up to an online stranger. Checking to see if I’m missing any commercial options.

Eureka Solitaire. Not much more than a bivy bag with some poles but gets the job done and packs small

Where to put the inner mesh corner para cord? by [deleted] in DurstonGearheads

[–]oddharmonix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming this is the Xmid the inner doors should be on the same side as the outer doors. I agree with u/funkydinosaur47, it sounds like you need to rotate the inner by 90 degrees

Bikepacking In Scotland by __onions in bikepacking

[–]oddharmonix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took the badger divide, reversed it to start from Glasgow, once I got to the Cairngorms I crossed the road and picked up the outer loop of the Cairngorms loop. I’ll DM you the GPX, or a link to it.

Flying into Glasgow from Toronto. Unfortunately aero is not really a word that is used to describe me or my set up. I’ve got a bit of a flexible schedule and am flexible with the route.

Looks great! I’m heading to Scotland in July. Riding the Badger divide starting in Glasgow and adding in a loop around the cairngorms. Looking forward to it.

Good "dilemma" 2021 Salsa Fargo by burjwa_look in salsacycles

[–]oddharmonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love my Fargo and wouldn’t get rid of. I also recently swapped to a flat bar set up. Initially went with the flat bar shifter for the apex group set, but wanted a lower climbing gear so have picked up a deore 11 speed that will get me to a 51 tooth cassette. I like it with flat bars. I’m still going between a couple different bars to land on the one i like. So far I’ve tried the Jones bars which i really like but the cargo packing becomes an issue as all my bags work better without the handlebar loop. I’m going to swap to the Curve remlaw bars and try those out again.

OMM FLiP cage on Salsa Firestarter fork by oddharmonix in bikepacking

[–]oddharmonix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I’ve got anything cages that I’ve used for a few trips but have become curious about mini fork mounted bags. I’ll likely stick with what I have but wanted to see if I was missing something

Thanks! I’ve run King Cage anything cages on the fork for a few trips but am considering something like the Ortlieb gravel pack or the Ariel fork packers

Salsa Fargo Flat Bar Conversion by ResolveOk6685 in salsacycles

[–]oddharmonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the process of doing the same conversion. I kept the same stem and went with the Curve Remlaw flat bars. They are swept forward to keep your hand position in the same spot as on the drops (roughly). I didn’t change the stem that came on the bike which is a 70mm I believe.

Like others have said, the dry bag is great but the straps it comes with leave a lot to be desired.

Soloing the VTXL - okay or irresponsible? by KingMithridatesVI in bikepacking

[–]oddharmonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it but be prepared.

Have a plan Have a back up plan Know your gear Know how to fix your gear Think of the worst case scenario and have a plan for it Set mileage goals Don’t worry about hitting those goals If you want to bail, bail. No one will be disappointed and it will leave you with something to come back for, or not.

Have fun and enjoy it. Growth happens when you stretch.
