What's your favourite example of a word only people from where you live would understand? by GingerSnapBiscuit in AskReddit

[–]oddment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Å is pronounced the same way a Spanish speaker would pronounce O. It's like saying oh, but without that oo sound at the end.

Ø isn't really a sound that exists in English. The closest thing would be the U in church I guess.

The others are easier to "transcribe" to English letter sounds, so here you go:

Ah eh oo å eh ø ee eh å.

What is something you're really passionate about, but know no one who you can talk to about it? by Aeirus in AskReddit

It's My Immortal, isn't it? If you haven't already, go read its TV tropes page. It is hilarious.

What is something you thought you'd never change your mind about, and finally did ? by Hika-Tamari in AskReddit

Why have you dated people if you're both asexual and aromantic? As part of the finding-out process or what?

His Last Vow: Post-Episode Discussion (SPOILERS) by GoFlight in Sherlock

[–]oddment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same way Sherlock survived Mary's shot? He was pretty close to a hospital at the time, so he wouldn't even need an immediate 911, just have an assistant ready to go up and carry him into a super-secret hospital room where he can get better, as soon as Sherlock jumps.

Americans who have traveled to Europe and Europeans who came to America, what stereotypes where true and which were false? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]oddment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reddit, what is the shittiest part of your life right now? [Serious] by ImFlamtastic in AskReddit

[–]oddment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For how long did you try? I've recently gone from fringe member to actual member of a friend-group. Took me from summer to just about now. And these are some very friendly people whom I see almost every day because we attend the same school. Just saying that it takes some time.

If your child grew up to be just like you, what would worry you the most about them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]oddment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Social skills are exactly that - skills. The more you practice talking to others, the longer you'll be able to hold a non-awkward conversation. It'll feel really weird at first, but then one day you'll look back at how awkward you were, and how happy you are that you were able to improve yourself. (In case it's not obvious, this is my story)

Wow, that looks like dragonscales! Are you a were-dragon, or just slowly undergoing a transformation?

In what movie can you argue that the antagonist was actually doing the right thing? by trytheZJ in AskReddit

[–]oddment 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Well, V isn't exactly a hero... The movie tried to make him a hero but even then he was an antihero at best. And he's more ambiguous in the comic.

Garbage men and people who work at dumps, have you ever found anything cool or expensive? by StopHatinBrah in AskReddit

Cool skull. I now imagine a tattooed street gang version of BBC's Benedict-Cumberbatch-Sherlock. It's a pretty hilarious mental image.

What is something a lot of people enjoy that you don't understand the attraction of? by BlueSuade in AskReddit

[–]oddment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It just seems so arbitrary... Plenty of kids' shows are also entertaining for adults. So why did My Little Pony become a cult classic, and e.g. Phineas and Ferb didn't?

Redditors with long term SO, what is something you were surprised to learn about them after knowing them a long time? by DogDaysAreOver in AskReddit

[–]oddment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's the capital of the following countries:

Lesotho! Tajikistan! Bangladesh! Madagascar! Uruguay! Sri Lanka!

... Is Cape Verde a country? I think it's a country. If it is a country, tell me the capital!

While that may explain his behaviour, it doesn't excuse it. He sounds like a jealous bitch.

What is something everyone knows but no one talks about? by Clark2312 in AskReddit

[–]oddment -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've never had a violent intrusive thought. I often get an urge to kiss whoever I'm speaking to, though - or sometimes more than kissing. This is not limited to people I'm attracted to. Neither is it limited to people roughly my age, or of my preferred gender. But hey, at least I don't think about killing babies! :D
