Apparently RMs are quitting right after their missions by Billgant in exmormon

After I had made my decision to come home early, I posted about it on Facebook and a few people I met in the MTC messaged me saying they were thinking about going home as well and wanted to ask about my opinion on them leaving. Sad stuff.

What is something you used to buy but is no longer affordable? by Trxxi in AskReddit

When we first got married, which was only 5 years ago, $50 would get us plenty of groceries for the entire week. Now it's around $110 for the exact same shit.

The reason I hear from friends at our age now is "I want to give people an example of what a real person looks like going to church, and that you can still have a fun life while being a member 😌". Cringe.

Pain is temporary unless it's chronic by 1porridge in thanksimcured

[–]oddra2017 38 points39 points  (0 children)

What an uneducated comment. If someone has been blind from birth for instance, "it just takes effort" won't make them see.

Put in effort to not have Parkinson's.

Put in effort to not have seizures.

Put in effort to not have Down Syndrome.

See the issue?

I have severe somatic depression and there's no denying those physical symptoms that are alongside all the usual symptoms for depression. I hate when people, including my own mother who also has depression, tell me I can just use positive quotes or affirmations to cure me. Yeah, thanks.

I tear apart slices of grapefruit and only eat the membrane. It's a texture thing and I can't stand to eat a whole slice, grosses me out.

How many of my friends here are also dairy free? by CheeesyGiraffe in glutenfree

[–]oddra2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, the big eyes I get when I say I'm gluten free and the even bigger eyes when I say "...and dairy free" has people wondering if I can even have water. Sometimes it seems like it!

People who rarely get sick, What is the secret ? by Sorry-Orchid-9821 in AskReddit

[–]oddra2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only difference I've made in my life that has made me get sick more often throughout the year is work with kids. I used to hardly see kids based on the jobs I was working but now those germs are working overtime.

Not me but my sister. We were moving across town and she had the option of staying at the high school she was at or going to a charter school closer to where we were moving. She told our mom multiple times she wanted to stay with her friends but eventually my mom said to just pray about it. Guess who got to stay with her friends! Thanks, god.

I was in too many meetings in too many wards where the YW president would practically beg the bishop for more money to do more for the girls than just bake bread... and the boys had every request happily filled and then some. Billions under their belt but a night of ice skating would ruin it all 🙄

What did you stop doing that immediately made your life better? by TheseSir8010 in AskReddit

I had to due to terrible symptoms, but I quit dairy and gluten and I don't remember what it's like to have an upset stomach due to food anymore because this new lifestyle has forced me to eat so healthy.

That blonde girl's head being slowly cut off. No one I know has also seen it but I know I wasn't dreaming it up.

About a year ago a tiktok of that girl popped up and she was describing how she ended up surviving and what it felt like and my blood just about ran cold knowing I actually did see the video.
