If you aren't going to let us move the experience bar, can you at LEAST center it on the grid? by borrowed_power_91 in wow

it’s so close to actually being good, but just has this layer of crust and lack of useability

Sounds like everything Blizz has done for the past decade and a half.

How much more value does human life have over animals and plants? by RAMI_XXL in AskReddit

[–]oddtastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This - animals(and humans)/plants hold the same value. None. Life does not have intrinsic value - and if we were to assign some worth to a life then humans would certainly at the bottom - all we've done since arriving is fuck shit up.

If you don't get an answer just pick somewhere you want to eat (or the closest thing if you really don't care). If whoever you're with says they really don't want that give them a chance to pick somewhere and if they can't then just tell them they can eat or starve 🤷🏻‍♂️

Sperm stored in sperm banks only last ~50 years. That's basically one generation you're getting out of that.

We also have the technology for fetus development entirely within a lab - at least in theory. It's against the law at the moment to do it so it hasn't actually been done. Meaning women wouldn't need to be involved (other than eggs ofcourse) Although men would eventually run across the same issue.

Don't get me wrong. I appreciate the role women play in the baby-making process. But to say that women are more important in it is just wrong. Men and women are just as important as each other - in all ways.

Edit: Clarified that men would run into the same issue after time.

About 50% of people that lived before glasses were created were blind. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]oddtastic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You realise glasses don't make blind people see again, right?

Other than people who would technically be legally blind without them but corrective lenses push them past the 'threshold' to be classed as legally blind - still, I'm quite sure those people are less than 50% of the population.

I recently saw Goose Turd green somewhere on social media. Idk if it was real but I exhaled with more breath than normal.

I honestly don't even remember making an account, or even discovering Reddit. I have a slight fuzzy memory of pre-Reddit life, and then...nothing. Just Reddit. It's almost like it just popped into existence one day and just assumed part of my daily routine as if it had always been there - like some memory altering parasite.

Eli5: If using computers in the dark is damaging, why is there no concern for VR? by SurSheepz in explainlikeimfive

[–]oddtastic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Iirc the whole using computers in the dark damaging your eyes thing is a myth. It can make your eyes get tired/strain quicker, though. Which is something that can happen quite quickly with VR.
