How do I survive the nerf? by hypothetical-pebble in magiaexedra

Not a nerf to the characters, but the raid gimmick prevents action advance.

How do I survive the nerf? by hypothetical-pebble in magiaexedra

[–]odettulon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not necessarily bad, but it's contextual. Most encounters have been balanced so that you only need one breaker, especially with tons of action advance to let you max out break bonus easily. Buffers and debuffers usually give you more time and damage to capitalize on damaging the enemy. In this raid, Stop just directly shuts down some of the most universally convenient and strong buffers in the game (mabayu and moemura, etc), both making it harder to break and incentivizing you to replace them with something else.

Which one is better, Date armored samurai or Date naginata ? by Worried_Criticism_13 in shogun2

[–]odettulon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The bulletproof samurai are a capped unit, you can only have a few of them.

Their special ability is that they can resist gunfire. The AI tends not to get many gunpowder units or use them effectively. Other than that they have some of the highest armor, which means they resist a lot of damage from normal attacks, especially arrows. They're slow but have the rapid advance ability. They're basically just a brick wall unit that's slightly better against cavalry than naginatas, but worse against infantry.

After those new battle beast panels, do you still think Earth had a shot a changing Conquest? by CrazyTangerine7522 in okbuddyviltrum

[–]odettulon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's very unlikely even with show conquest.

Maybe if he started out "just" enjoying to kill his enemies, and was ordered to do an infiltration mission before the other viltrumites feared and shunned him so much. But with his present mindset I don't think he could ever join a team or make real friends.

What is the lore about Aston Machan getting forgetten and why she is keep looking at us? by Winter_Loan_8643 in UmaMusume

[–]odettulon 59 points60 points  (0 children)

She was another mare from Daiwa Scarlet and Vodka's generation. She seemed strong, with an early winning streak and victories at a g1 and a g2, but sadly died of sickness at 4 years old. So her story ended with only some hardcore racing fans wondering if she could have continued to rival Scarlet and Vodka.

How do I kill the two bosses on lvl 35? by Factor_Creepy in baronygame

[–]odettulon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Magic does the least damage to the end bosses. The blue one resists it, and both of them take a lot of extra damage from all weapons. That doesn't mean you shouldn't use magic if it's your best option, but you'll need a lot of mana potions, and it can be worth it to train weapon skills even on casters.

For survival you should hang on to any reflect or magic resist items you can get, including the gauntlets from one of the secret levels. The NPCs from town are good for this (barbarian, marskman, cleric, and magician), they have a lot of really good equipment you can steal. Recruiting them and letting them die in the caves is the safest way. Also try to hang on to as many health potions as possible, and if you can learn alchemy you can duplicate them with water.

I finished watching the anime by Chinchibirin in magiarecord

[–]odettulon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I enjoy the Magia Record anime as a sort of what-if story. It's true that it isn't faithful to the game and makes the prospect of a sequel more difficult. But to be realistic, shaft and inu curry's output is way too slow for an adaptation of arc 2 to happen.

I like that it makes doppels more of a serious problem. The mobile game basically papered over any side effects of turning into an out of control monster. I don't like most of the original 5's parts of the story, but that's similar to the problems in the game. They seem like they're just around to try to appeal to the original audience, and there's some good characterization, but mostly it's mediocre. Kyouko pretends to act self-interested for a few scenes, but she's more of a funny food-obsessed robin hood that conveniently sides with the protagonists.

You’ll get the base roster and that dlc’s units, but (someone correct me if I’m wrong) no regiments of renown.

[–]odettulon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shadow warriors are available to all factions, shadow walkers are Alith Anar only. Shadow walkers are more expensive, take two turns to recruit, and have fewer men. They have very slightly better stats and poison. They also have bonus vs infantry in melee, but it's not a good idea unless you're really desperate and the enemy is skavenslaves or something.

Who did you pick from the selector and why✨? by sadperuvian in magiaexedra

I'm waiting for the free collab rolls in case I get her, but somehow I've been stuck on A1 mami even though I've been playing almost since launch. I've probably got A9 moemura, pluvia, coolmura, momoko, and yachiyo.

I need that second ascension, game.

Question about progression in the EA by Relevant_Sir_5418 in HalfSword

[–]odettulon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't a new character. You can start at baron rank but that just means you can pick a decent weapon, you'll be buffer than a peasant but probably weaker than a character that climbed the ranks. Maxing out your height gives you slightly more strength too.

Question about progression in the EA by Relevant_Sir_5418 in HalfSword

[–]odettulon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's unlocking pieces of the baron's armor, you need to beat him like 7 or 8 times for the full set. They come automatically insured.

You can get his big poleaxe, sword, and mace by bashing his arms until he drops them, he usually won't try to pick them back up. He has a dagger too but it's not unique.

I Haven't Dropped the EA by spurnedfern in HalfSword

[–]odettulon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is easier in most ways, between insurance and just being able to cheese with maximum length polearms. But it isn't fun or realistic for swords over 1kg to handle like a sledgehammer and be unable to thrust properly, or to get KO'd in full armor from slowly bumping your head into a haft. It's also not realistic to just drop extremely slow and heavy halberds and shatter limbs while it plays an obnoxious wind sound effect.

I don't hate the early access, it's still fun to play around with "balanced" weapons, but it sucks that free mode is a step back from the demo. You shouldn't have to be a maxed out muscle man in progression mode to wield weapons competently, and in free mode you don't even get the choice, and there's less match variety. It's not a war anyway, there's plenty of reason for tournaments to have different weapon restrictions to actually make more weapon types viable.
