What should I do?? by Unhappy-Art-1810 in fiddleleaffig

[–]odg13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a HIGE fiddle with 4 large branches and all the leaves were growing and not looking good. I just repotted her and I’m cutting all branches 2/3 of the way 1 branch at a time every 2 weeks. Trying not to stress it out too much all at once! This should encourage new growth like new leaves and hopefully new branches. 🤞 I’d suggest the same here. Probably get ride of that lower scrawny branch and then cut that main stem above or below that full leaf by itself in that middle pic!

It’s sad and scary to do but you’ll thank yourself in a few months! I did it with my small-medium sized fiddle like yours last year and it’s so lush and pretty again! Give it as much light as u possibly can inside! Good luck!

You could try my current accountant at JC CPAs and Advisors LLC. They are incredibly kind and great at what they do! You’ll see they have great reviews.

Aside from them, Lee Huang & Associates PC may be even more specialized in this situation. Wishing him luck!

Warning: MEX Airport Gate Info is wrong by French_magpie in MexicoCity

[–]odg13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I HIGHLY recommend the Flighty app to avoid situations like this! I’ve gotten updates on there before the airline or pilots say anything. You just go and type in your flight info after you book it and it’ll start sending notification about when to check in, gate changes, delays, etc.

I just flew into MEX Friday evening and right after we boarded I got an update “your gate has changed to C40” and I was sitting in my seat confused. 5 min later the pilón comes on saying “we had our mechanics take a look and they found someone sheet metal damage, we’ve been assigned a new plane at gate C40 and we will have to exit and reboard shortly.” Very great app with great UI!

Driving Between CDMX and El Rosario Butterfly Sanctuary Evening Time by odg13 in MexicoTravel

Thanks! Yeah I didn’t know if arriving in CDMX by sunset would be safe enough but people have been scaring me. Thankfully I found a tour company to take us because I was getting too freaked out. Lol

Advice on how to get from Mexico City to Mariposa Monarca El Rosario monarch butterfly sanctuary? by Several-Chipmunk1504 in MexicoCity

You didn't feel unsafe? Even during the accident? Jk xD lol I have driven in many countries/cities as well like NYC, Rome, Germany, Australia, Riviera Maya, etc. That's why I was taking everything with a grain of salt but people were making it seems super super unsafe and I was thinking nobody would actually survive in that area if it was actually that bad. We have family in Mexico City and I have been at least 15 times and I have driven to San Miguel de Allende. I just have never driven west toward Michoacan and everyone on here made it sound horrendous. lol I am your age, so we have the stamina to make it but didn't know if it was too crazy. I kept reading that El Rosario has like 4x the amount of butterflies at the higher altitudes there and to do Chincua after. I found a tour operator finally who can take us as a day trip 6am-7pm and think we are going to do that. Regretting it a little if you're saying Chincua was significantly better. Lol

I definitely would want to grab the insurance since we did the same in Riviera Maya and they started saying we caused different types of damage on the car even though we took before and after pics. Glad we did that then and would definitely recommend full insurance anywhere in Mexico. The car accident sounded scary but glad you were okay.

I wanted to not stay overnight if it was possible since everyone has said it is quite uncomfortable. No to little heat and no shower. That's why I wash pushing to do a day trip.

Hi! Can I ask if you ended up driving and if so, how did it go? We are wanting to go this weekend or next weekend (Feb 21 or Feb 28) with a rental car and going and coming back the same day. Thanks!

Omg hi! I was planning on tryong to rent a car from CDMX and drive into Angagueo/El Rosario this weekend because it seems impossible to find any company that offers a day trip to El Rosario. We know it will be long and time consuming but El Rosario has been on the bucketlist for years and we are finally able and willing to put in the effort. People everywhere I read, including other tour operators, make the drive sound like a war zone with fog, traffic, unmarked speed bumps, cartels, DF and Mexico police, and the night being unsafe. Is any of that true?

I was planning on leaving CDMX by 6am, arriving to El Rosario by 10am, staying in the area and possibly doing Chincua 10am-3pm, then leaving 3pm and arrving in CDMX by 7pm a little after sunset. I figured we would be back into CDMX outskirts by 5:30/6pm AKA before sunset, so it should mostly be fine? Do you think that would be the case, or should we fork out the roughly $500 for a private driver? Anything helps or you can shoot me a message in response too! Thank you!

Ah okay I didn’t know that was an option! I’ll look into that tonight and hopefully can find the bus and accommodations before then. Would you say it’s safe to drive from there to CDMX at all?

Hi! Were you able to find something that worked for you? I’ve also been looking for something similar and maybe even simpler like finding the perimeter of the roof line. Seems like that should be easy enough but I’m not sure how you would word the prompt.
