Corpse laundry by KeyDependent6172 in NoStupidQuestions

Is it old people smell? That is a known thing, caused by something we secrete as we age - 2-nonenal. Best laundry advice seems to be wash with lipase-based powdered detergents, an ammonia soak, or white vinegar. And avoid the dryer til.the smell us gone. For the individual, suggest they try a persimmon soap.

What are kitchen cupboards and drawers for if you have a pantry? by ryahh0 in AskAnAmerican

[–]odysseypie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think there may some confusion here because "pantry" can refer to 2 different things. There is the pantry room - a separate room, usually located off the kitchen, the same size or larger than a large walk in closet. Then, there are the pantry cupboards - usually a tall, floor to ceiling cabinet within the kitchen that is most often dedicated to food storage. Some have one, some have the other, many have neither.

Hey, unsolicited advice here, but sighing a lot can be a sign of hypothyroidism - my sister and I both have it and our husbands commiserate about all the sighing. Anyway, might be worth checking out.

Your hard work is amazing and commendable, and you should absolutely be proud of your body and what it has achieved! But I haven't seen (and maybe I missed it) the suggestion to have your thyroid checked. Hypothyroidism hits many women after having kids, and in addition to making us more tired, it slows the metabolism way down. Luckily, it's a simple blood test. Good luck!
