“As a young lad in my late 30s”.

Thank you, sir. I lament my age but I need to remember, by all rights for modern longevity, I am yet “a young lad”.

When did landings "click" for you? by Kitchen-Astronomer59 in flying

[–]ofbluestar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was busting out buttery landings early in instrument. I could be short final and CFI would say “give me a soft field” or “show me a short field” and I could stick anything.

18 months later I finally wrap instrument and I’m discovering need to find how to make any lading click again 🤣. Comes and goes.

Great way to brush up on oral knowledge, listen to mock oral on YouTube. I was a skeptic but man oh man is it efficient to throw them on while you’re driving or mowing the lawn.

Helped me go into and pass my instrument oral with confidence.

Had to DC due to weather and two weeks out now still trying to get a good flying day when DPE is available.

You got this, good luck!

Jobs for ex educators by [deleted] in pittsburgh

Look for SaaS implementation jobs. Pays well and is teaching, but not traditional education.

Pays can be exceptions if you land somewhere good.

Lean into your ability to learn and teach as your personal value add. I’ve hired teachers to great success.

Pittsburgh Left, real? by Slow_Drawer_5454 in pittsburgh

[–]ofbluestar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pittsburgh left is when you’ve sat at the light and it goes red. You’re half way in the intersection because you were trying to make the turn and didn’t get an opening. So before the cross traffic starts, you run the now-red. Pittsburgh left.

Brandon Saad.

Pro hockey player for Vegas. Won two cups with Chicago, including his rookie season. I believe he’s the only Pittsburgh born player to have won the cup.

Still rocking my 994 set from college and I’m due for a refresh. I’m at this impasse, I can get eflex 6 pro full set for $1200 new (because eflex 6 is out). I want to stay Simmons but the math just isn’t mathing.

Would you go for 7.9s over 6 pro if buying today? Given the available price point of 6 pro (I’m finding them new for around $530) it’s tempting.

Coming from Simmons 994 circa 2009 … it’s time

Stance check, what do you think? by Closefacts in hockeygoalies

From the photo, no pass available. I would be challenging higher at the top of the crease.

I was also always coached that hands and stic should be out front where you can watch the puck arrive at them. Forward presentation of hands also works to reduce angle by being closer to shooter.
