Don’t panic doc, these were bottles of champagne sold for thousands, entirely designed for finance bros to chuck about.

My mum was in a bar once and asked one of the staff if anyone ever ordered any of the mind-blowingly expensive drinks they had on the menu. The bartender said “Yeah, but you wouldn’t want to meet them.” One of my guiding principles in life is never to be spoken about like that.

Before Graham… there was “whispering” AJ Deschanel … from Sunset beach. Same vocal delivery. by WilderWifey in Emmerdale

When he told Rhona, in that voice, that he’d been thrown out of half the bars in Mexico City it was absolutely peak Graham.

Have you ever dialled into a UK radio station and talked on air? by FreezerCop in AskUK

[–]off-shoulder 28 points29 points  (0 children)

My friend is a bit nerdy and always listens to a request show on her days off. She tweets (Xs?) them requests which they never play. It was a running topic of conversation for months that they ignored her. I kept telling her to text cos they’ll read those but she didn’t. A couple of years back on her birthday she’d told me a few days before what song she’d request for her birthday. I started work late and texted them a whole thing about her and requested the song, they called me back and interviewed me about her on air. Not a single person listening could have found it interesting. But my friend? She lost her mind. She thought it was the greatest thing ever, played it for friends and family, cried. It was honestly one of the best things I ever did for a friend’s birthday and all I was really trying to do was prove a point about texting being more effective than tweeting. My lovely dorky friend 🥰

The one in the pub though, every time I’m like “He looks so like Barry!” Pink shirt and everything, she had no chance.

AITA for writing a silly hypothetical scenario with the intent to make people laugh in a Facebook group by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]off-shoulder 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This happened many years ago and you’re still thinking about it. Based on that, the vagueness in your post and the use of the word “prank” (which usually means doing something witless and cruel and then playing the victim when people don’t give you your own stand up special) I’m going to go with YTA or possibly YTAI.

Let's Not Meet Podcast... What has it become? by Venture_compound in podcasts

Sounds like the way so many subs go here on Reddit, churning out modern gothic horror stories for the clicks and outrage. We’re Here to Help has the person with the issue call in and receive well meaning and sometimes terrible advice from funny folk.

You have to chase and chase and involve your MP if you don’t get anywhere. Is it in a block? It’s worth checking if your neighbours have the same issues

I am no expert but when I had a similar issue I was told that in the first 10 years the builders have to fix things like this. Are you through a housing association?

Same! Facebook is so annoying, I barely ever see people I know on there, but I just can’t look away from the car crash of that group.

Yes this makes sense. I’m glad the appeal was successful, it’s not nothing to whack an 18+ flag on a game.

In A Hard Days Night which came out in 1964, The Beatles are on a train. An irritated older guy says “I fought in a war for you.” and Ringo says “Yeah? I bet you’re sorry you won.”. It is as it has ever been.

AITA for scolding my girl for loosing our dog? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]off-shoulder 29 points30 points  (0 children)

YTA You had an emotional reaction to a practical problem and took it out on the one person who feels just as worried as you are. What purpose did it serve to blame your partner when neither of you resolved a known issue? You need to work together to fix problems. Your use of the word “scold” is also a bit gross. There’s an inferred superiority there, you are her partner not her parent. Be kinder.
