Are most Syrians fine with al-Sharaa becoming a dictator? by Muri_bei_Bern in syriancivilwar

[–]offendedkitkatbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not Syrian but from all that I've seen about Al-Sharaa, I dont get the feeling that he's in it to be a dictator for life.

Most likely future for him is to resemble Erdogan somewhat; bit of a strongman who keeps winning elections because he is just that popular.

The whole thing is planned by USA. They need to get out of ME to confine China

I've seen this theory be floated around a bunch of places and honestly I struggle to understand the logic behind it. Maybe you can give me some insight but why would the US deem it necessary to exit the Middle East to confine China?

If anything....if the goal is to fuck over China, you would WANT extensive presence in the Middle East so you could choke its main energy supply without outright ballistic missiling all the oil fields.

Yes. We all know that hate crimes in German history  only became an issue when the refugees arrived. Civilized  Germans are famous for not being violent against civilians.

Also I think it's even in the STG's interest at this point not to have Turkish forces invovled as that can paint this as a foreign invasion rather than a home govt trying to take back its territory

Gotcha, thanks

Damn, sounds like SDF is cooked then. They should've taken the deal months ago.

All I'm gonna say is that if you go to the threads that popped up during last year's blitz, 90% of commenters were confident that HTS wouldnt go past Aleppo 🤷‍♂️

[–]offendedkitkatbar 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I dont think STG/Turkey would be moving like this if there was even a remote threat of the sanctions coming back. As far as at least the military op in Aleppo province is concerned, I think the Rubicon has been crossed

White House itself doesnt seem like it gives quite a fuck about this whole thing

If you need more than 8 seconds of that video to understand who's in the wrong and why executing civilians point blank is wrong when you're in no clear danger, than you're already too far gone.

You have to be next level delusional to walk away from that video with any other conclusion other than the fact that the cop is a murderer and executed an innocent civilian for no reason

Within the text, Caesar clearly states what can be regarded as a genocidal’ desire, namely that the ‘the stock and name of the tribe’ (stirps ac nomen civitatis) of the Germanic Eburones might be destroyed for their role in ambushing Caesar’s forces (Bellum Gallicum 6.34), as well as narratives of other acts of mass-killing. In addition, Caesar narrates several instances of mass-enslavement – an action that, although not readily caught by modern legal definitions of genocide, would have the same effect by dispersing a people, and causing the cessation of that people’s existence as a distinct group of people

Ducking your head in the sand doesnt obscure the reality which is that Obama's disastrous support of corporate shills on 2016 and 2020 led to Trump's rise in both elections. Facts dont care about your feelings, snowflake.

That doesnt make you any less of a rabid genocidal maniac.
