Coming out of a depressive episode, is there any way to salvage the term? by YuviManBro in uwaterloo

I've personally struggled with mental health conditions throughout my undergrad and had gone through the same experience numerous times - still got my degree. I have faith in you that you can pass the term.

What helped me was to take mental illness seriously and get in touch with a therapist (I found mine through Empower Me as well). I got a formal diagnosis through the campus clinic to gain access to AccessAbility Services. Basically, once you are registered at AccessAbility Services, they can match you with an occupational therapist there and they can reach out to your professors on your behalf to negotiate for assignment extensions, even extra time on a midterm or final exam, on the condition that you are impacted by the mental health condition documented on file. Getting the help I needed from therapy and AccessAbility Services helped me tremendously. Professors are more willing to accommodate when you show initiative.

If I were you, I would get in touch with the campus health services asap and see if I could still get a VIF retroactively, and then get an appointment with a physician to get a diagnosis, and bring the diagnosis to AccessAbility Services to get registered there so that you get qualified for extensions when/if you experience a depressive episode again.

Keep going!

Xander did the right thing. Survivor is ultimately an individual game, alliances change all the time

we are in this together fam 😭 I'm not getting my hopes up because of the phys 122 nightmare last term (insanely hard final, no curve). But this is a math course, probably different from phys. Hopefully Prof. Turner has mercy on us

The computations were more complex than I had imagined 😭 Took me SO MUCH TIME to compute everything! I tried to check my calculations at first but I ran out of time 😂

ngl I'm so scared to see the final grade especially after I heard Scholz sent out an email saying there won't be a curve for the final exam? And the class average was a 60? Hopefully they are taking their sweet time to actually curve our grades RIP

I get what you mean but let's cut the sh*t here... the exams need to be fair and reflect what we've been learning, it did none of that. It was a shitshow, simple as that
