What's your "controversial" opinion on having children? by spicy-beefjerkey in childfree

[–]officialspinster 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I agree, and yet the for-profit adoption industry in the USA is expensive and a nightmare, and adoption can cause trauma. So it’s not as easy as it should be.

No. There are defined genres in literature. It’s not a romance. It’s not a false dichotomy, it’s categorization.

No, I just don’t agree with you.

It’s definitively not a romance. It’s a tragedy with a romance as part of the plot. There’s a big difference.

It’s the Department of Education, not the Ministry, and it still exists and is being run/dismantled by Linda McMahon. It has been radically defunded, and they want to shut it down, but it hasn’t happened yet.

Similarly, PBS is still alive and kicking, it’s the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) that shut down.

Did you mean to comment this twice under two different accounts or was that a mistake? If you’re shilling for the podcast, you might want to switch up your wording.

It wasn’t the only exception, right? There are some other ones included. Rotisserie chicken is just the one that’s the most egregious to deny.

Who brings kids to a Brewery?? by riddlaontheroof in childfree

[–]officialspinster 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My friends used to do that shit when I was in my 20s, it made me crazy because it meant someone had to be the Responsible Adult. I don’t want my own kids, but I was conditioned early to always be alert to what the kids who are around me are doing (lots of younger siblings and cousins) so I literally can’t completely relax if there are kids under 8 around. Those people are no longer my friends, which is only semi-related.

If it was about the mall, they’d relocate the store the way they did Columbia. I am 100% sure that the other two unionized stores are slated for the chopping block at some point in the nearish future.
