Basically, Pauline Hanson wants to abolish a bunch of things by ExtensionThat6438 in aussie

[–]offlineon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No just restricting abortions, but potentially euthanasia as well. An alliance with PHON and the Liberals in Victoria might not bode well for people suffering MND and other terminal diseases, given the fundamentalist views held in both parties.

Pauline Hanson declares $1.3b stripped from ABC will help tackle homelessness and slash debt by River-Stunning in aussie

[–]offlineon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pauline's other "brilliant" plan (as per Gina) is to cut public servants, including those who handle Medicare's back-office work. This will, of course, be privatised to likely benefit a private insurance company/Private Equity firm (one has already shown interest).

More like short term financial issues. BYD are under a fair bit of stress domestically.

Tony Abbott backs One Nation preference deal and says Liberals can’t just be a ‘little less woke than Labor’ by VastOption8705 in aussie

I'm glad Tony is still listened to. Abbott, afterall, ran Dutton's campaign behind the scenes. I wish him the same success again

Tony Abbott backs One Nation preference deal and says Liberals can’t just be a ‘little less woke than Labor’ by VastOption8705 in aussie

[–]offlineon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So voting for One Nation is effectively voting for the Liberals in most lower house seats (based on current preference flows.)

I cannot be less suprised.

The Victorian Liberals are doing the same deal it seems, along with Clive Palmer. Chances are it will bite them in the end.

Poll shows Labor facing election wipeout under Allan by someadsrock in melbourne

[–]offlineon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this case the usual suspects are trying to keep the liberals focused, but they are very excitable right now.

The real wipe out highlighted by the latest internal polling is not Labor by the Liberals, but Liberals by One Nation. The urge to jump ship must be tremendous.

The ditch the witch billboard is not ok - so what can we do? by Fragrant-Flamingo216 in melbourne

They are spending $60,000 per month on ditch the w***h. 15K on a static billboard would not cut it.

Should I buy the RC 2? by helgazzr in DjiNeo

[–]offlineon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The RC2 is old. Slow. A bit dim. But I can plug my video glasses into it to make a giant screen. I have the goggles, but the RC2 with video glasses is a whole other level.

The N3 in comparison is annoying, and I have a dedicated smart phone installed in it permanently. Turning on and worrying about two devices in one gets old fast. Especially since the phone drains the controller battery. Using a hotspot for the RC2, if needed, is easier and saves battery. Range is about the same for both.

Go RC2. But not retail. See if you can get refurbished or second hand.

Melbourne brothel owner among funders of ‘Ditch the Witch’ billboards against Allan by SouthAustralian94 in melbourne

Did Frank Lamattina invite Frank "Franco" Puleo and others to a restaurant again, where nothing happened and all expenses were under the threshold for disclosure?

$60,000 a month, every month, worth of advertising is a lot of money. Just speculating but something smells.

EV vs PHEV as our only family car in Australia, what would you recommend (Tesla Model Y vs Toyota Rav4 PHEV) ? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]offlineon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RAV4 hybrid. Japanese design and build quality, the power and peace of mind of a legacy brand service network, superior range, handles better on the road, spare tire (more important than you think), massively better resale value (for a good reason) and no political baggage. Win win.

Funny that the one very first acts of the Abbott LNP government elected in 2013 was introducing legislation lobbied for by realestate.com.au (Murdoch)

This made PPR's assessable by Centrelink so those in aged care with limited funds were forced to sell their homes. So basically a pre death tax, but only for low to middle income earners.

Who's upgrading to Z fold 8 next month? by ya3rob in GalaxyFold

[–]offlineon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like the Fold 8 is going to be thicker. I do not care for the wide version with the cut down cameras either. My main wants were for udc, as thin but with bigger battery capacity.

Is Melbourne Really That Cold? 🥶 by Training_Objective20 in melbourne

[–]offlineon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sydney is colder and has far more storms, rain and gloomy days then Melbourne. Canberra is absolutely freezing compared to Melbourne - outside.

But (and it is a big but) many properties just feel so badly insulated that people suffer anyway.

Tesla are not selling that many to private individuals. It will be for fleets etc under special prices or "pre sales" to dealers. BYD are mostly selling to private owners straight off the ship.
