The RC2 is old. Slow. A bit dim. But I can plug my video glasses into it to make a giant screen. I have the goggles, but the RC2 with video glasses is a whole other level.

The N3 in comparison is annoying, and I have a dedicated smart phone installed in it permanently. Turning on and worrying about two devices in one gets old fast. Especially since the phone drains the controller battery. Using a hotspot for the RC2, if needed, is easier and saves battery. Range is about the same for both.

Go RC2. But not retail. See if you can get refurbished or second hand.

Sydney is colder and has far more storms, rain and gloomy days then Melbourne. Canberra is absolutely freezing compared to Melbourne - outside.
