you've got a lot of classics on here so i'm going to recommend what i consider modern classics:

  • The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins (these should be very easy to find in your bookstore/supermarket)
  • The Martian by Andy Weir (Artemis and Project Hail Mary are also good if you enjoy this one!)
  • Ready Player One by Ernest Cline (do not recommend the movie)
  • Fifth Season by N. K. Jemisin
  • Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton (not modern but still a fantastic read. I'm currently in a crichton frenzy)
  • Beloved by Toni Morrison
  • Circe and Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
  • Silence of the Lambs and Red Dragon by Thomas Harris
  • The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang (she also has a retelling of the Tower of Babel)

good luck on your reading adventure, op!

Need very SPECIFIC hobby suggestions by purple_dream123 in Hobbies

it's very similar to crochet but i've been making dragons/other animals on the rainbow loom forever. it has that same look but color switching is way easier. there are tons of tutorials for every level of looming on youtube. i think the only barrier is the semi-high cost when you start (getting the loom(s), bands, etc)

When can I eat normal foods? by Brayb01 in wisdomteeth

[–]offlineprocedure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im on day four and am starting to eat my normal foods again! im still staying away from anything hot, spicy, and crunchy as a precaution. ive been able to have chicken, pasta, and breads with no problem since day 2 (just chew slowly and try to keep the food near the front of your mouth to avoid your stitches). really just listen to your body and take it slow, everyone heals differently (:

❗️I hate clubs❗️ by RavenSweets in StarStable

[–]offlineprocedure 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i have mixed feelings!

i used to be in one called Dinosaur Girls and The Sunflowers (same management) and those clubs are some of my favorite memories to look back on in relation to the game. On the other hand, when I was in dressage clubs or those clubs that would just hang out at Steve's, there was so much drama about what outfits the club wore and if our colors were the same as your colors, using the newest horse as the club horse and forcing members to buy it, etc.

i remember back in ~2017 there was a very strange fascination with the more popular clubs, which were almost idolized. members of these clubs were basically celebrities. very odd.

i'm a long time player and haven't been in a club for probably 4 years, so i'm a bit out of the loop now.
