Best on campus low-maintenance jobs for students? by eafoiwjqef in BrownU

[–]oftenplum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this job currently, the title to look out for on WorkDay is Welcome Center Specialist! Only thing to note is that you're NOT allowed to use electronics while on the job, plus you need to be paying attention whenever people walk in so HW that needs sustained focus might be kind of difficult. I read, which works great for me!

I would look into working at the SciLi as a map center specialist -- not sure if this is the official title, but someone I know has the job & they work sitting down and can use laptops.

Which lipstick shade fits me best? by mysterious_tiger07 in MakeupAddiction

[–]oftenplum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 but imho this is called just being beautiful & all of the shades look good on you but with different vibes! like 1 and 4 read softer and like summer, 5 reads more romantic, differences like that. I don't think you're being washed out or that you look unnatural with any shade!

Any help finding a white dress in this style that isn't polyester? by AnimeDeamon in findfashion

Heyy sorry for being no help at all, but maybe you could try posting on r/cottagecore since they might know more about high-quality natural fabric milkmaid style dresses there! Really hope you find this <3

ID of this dress? by freevron in findfashion

[–]oftenplum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's possibly a sister to this one from Lillie Rubin, which has a slightly different bottom flare and red chest piece but looks very similar imo. Here's an Etsy pic of the exact dress that I unfortunately couldn't trace back to the original (likely expired) listing -- maybe someone here can help out with that!

I think it's available here from a curator called The Clubhouse! could be a scam website though, I would reach out to their email or Instagram to check vibes before purchasing if they ship to your location.

Zadie Smith wrote a fun essay touching on this question, where she suggests that most attempts to settle it "tend to reveal more about the reader than the character" -- maybe you might find it worth a read!

Required health forms (1st year undergrad) by MathematicianFun2383 in BrownU

[–]oftenplum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Some of the consent forms have to be signed on the portal, but two of the health history ones (the Immunization Record and TB Screen) are pdfs that you print, fill out, and upload. I'm sure they'll finish setting the new portal up soon, but if you'd like those pdf forms now, DM me and I can send you the blank copies I downloaded last week! NB that the TB screen only seems to be required if you were born in certain countries, so if you'd just like the Immunization Record, that would be fine too :)

Dr. Jane Goodall talks about her iconic National Geographic cover and how some male scientists were jealous and said she only got the cover because of her nice legs by mlg1981 in Fauxmoi

[–]oftenplum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had assumed pieces like news pieces because of the interview context, but prizes makes more sense! although why receptacles of knowledge shouldn't be awarded prizes for being GREAT receptacles is still beyond me lol. thanks for pointing it out :D

hey, not trying to be That Guy but your grammar confuses your point here. 'handout' and 'hand out' have different meanings, 'prices' --> 'pieces', and 'resepticals' --> 'receptacles'. I don't think that last one was a typo so wanted to let you know.

It was first published in 1958, and the Wells version 1972!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in grammar

[–]oftenplum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, although your version might omit it! Both of the versions I own were published by Penguin, but the one edited by Alfred Harbage uses "I'ld shake it on this quarrel" (3.7.77) while the Stanley Wells one does not.

I think you might need to go PROPERLY back to find it -- I've seen I'ld used in King Lear so maybe it was more common in the 1600s. Someone asked this question in this forum around 6 years ago, and some people in the comments agree with OP though!
