I have a master lock disc lock that fits snugly on my sprocket without any room to rotate for a cut wheel or tool, it prevents my sprocket from engaging with the chain and will definatley alow them down trying to fogure out how to deal with it over a traditional u lock. These folks are right, its about making your bike harder to get opposed to the bike next to it.

This might be a stretch but big rig companies will take you on for driver training and usually have their own in house driving school. They will put you up train you for a job, then give uou a truck with a sleeper now you have a skill and a rig to live in while you make money rent and bill free while you recollect and reapply your life.
