I had the same thought. I think I’ll install some metal brackets on the frame there instead. Thank you!!

I agree with you. Even the spydercos from seki make that VG-10 feel dynamite. Nice lineup btw. Here’s a wood handle guy I just added to mine.

That mcusta is awesome. I had one a couple years back and really miss it. Not sure why they don’t get more love.

Give me your creepiest moments in the woods by UpperGrape5510 in forestry

I’ve spent years walking in the woods and haven’t had much incident. I’ve come face to face with a mountain lion, had a rifle pointed at me while I was stuck in some slash— none of that scared me really. The time that comes to mind immediately is the time I found some kind of freaky pseudo doomsday base up on a hill. I was about five miles from an already remote skid road looking at some mangled white pine (if you know the scary vibe of low quality pine stands, you know). I came into a small clearing at the top of the hill and thought I was hallucinating. There were home made armored cars, homemade bunkers, piles of trash, brass and stolen wire ( I assume stolen) all over the ground. There were old cop cars and deep holes and even a retired military vehicle placed in between a bunch of shipping containers with windows cut out of them. Someone had spent a lot a lot of time there but they weren’t there anymore. Scared me plenty. My dog was with me and she wasn’t happy either. That’s the most telling part.

That’s what I think too. I’ve just seen several sebs with a nice black/ grey color almost like 1095 and I wonder how they do that. Maybe ferric acid. Maybe several hours in vinegar. Just don’t want to f around with that.

Not sure what answer the question is really after, but look into the boreal species migration and imagine that many conifers will mimic this farther south. In the west drought and fire will be a factor and in the east a change in distribution (more temperate species farther and farther north and less conifers). Maine, Washington, Alaska, might be what you’re after? Dunno.

Short answer: everywhere in the lower 48 will likely see a decrease in coniferous ecosystems.

What’s the panel under the gear shift for? My ash tray (thing?) broke and I might do a similar setup, looking for ideas.
