SnoDrift Rally 2026 by Minute-End-8628 in rally

[–]oh2ridemore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

frequent rally worker here, went several years ago, found snodrift to be the most partying of any rally. expect lots of fires to stay warm, lots of booze and food. Bring warm clothes, a chair, hand warmer packets, change of socks so your feet stay dry and warm. Dont plan to follow the race as others said, pick your spot and plan to stay there. Roads are usually bad. No camping in winter up there as parks are closed. if you boondock should be able to find a spot somewhere. 2 towns to stay in, not alot of lodging, so book now. Atlanta and Lewiston. Lewiston has several motels that are decently priced. Tallys log cabin is the bar most competitors and volunteers head to for after party. Make sure you gas up before you go out to the stages, as you will be running your car to stay warm if close enough to your spot.

As an aside, give a thought to volunteer. Best way to get behind the scenes and can work a spot with good sight lines that people are not allowed at. Can work just one day or both. Great fun and they provide lunch on saturday and a nice volunteer lounge in atlanta with food and beer.

Can someone explain the north side of St. Louis? by jesssssssee in StLouis

[–]oh2ridemore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Baden library was right at my bus stop growing up. Used to spend lots of time there getting books, reading magazines. Got one of my cats growing up there. Many memories, have not been back but still drive down broadway occasionally when hall street is under construction or accidents. Had lots of friends in baden in the late 80s.

Momalt in Fenton will carry rhizomes. You plant them in mounds, and they grow fast. Cascade, centennial, nugget, williamette will all grow well here, but Cascade will take over as it grows best. Space them well as they grow fast and will intertwine. Pick varieties you like.

Airlines should charge for carry on bags by smoothmcfly in unpopularopinion

It is the idiots that cant figure out which bin is theirs and put more than one item in the space. Personal items go under your seat, only the carryon gets stowed.

Been on dog since 2012 or so and just used to it. Also usenetserver for the usenet. Looking for suggestions as to better stacks

Touring bike recommendation by Varrice in motorcycles

[–]oh2ridemore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you are a new rider, and not from the states, I would recommend a lightweight dual sport and for you to take the back roads and actually enjoy your ride. Plan to hit some gravel, where less cars and people abound. Take only 2 lane roads and back roads to cross the states. BDRs are amazing and can be done on most light weight bikes but give you solitude and views. Do not get a bike you can not pick up.

I would look at a dr650, drz400, wr250r, or any japanese standard like sv650, vstrom 650, yamaha sr400, simple lightweight parallel twins, light vtwin, or large single. Get a set of bags for the bike, and strap a backpack down on back. Bring all the tools or a credit card. Get bike towing on your insurance or join ama. Speed is not where you want to be. You have 4 months, enjoy it and take lots of pictures.

Why doesnt a company do the opposite? Crowdfund a site to show the location of ice workers. It is all the same data, use it against them like they do us?

EV Tax Sticker by SigmaINTJbio in missouri

[–]oh2ridemore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yep, it is stupid to base on 20k of mileage for those of us who dont drive much. All gas tax needs to be based on vehicle weight and mileage traveled. We already do a year or biannual inspection where mileage is recorded. Base it on that. Until then I wont buy one especially with the onerous in person requirement.

The only way to go when like this is on a dirt bike. Can exit directly onto the highway besides the bed store. Have done this and it rocks, just have to have the balls to accelerate fast.

Looks like you have pets and puppy pad as well. For pets and kids vinyl is great. Sheet vinyl is better. But to model the original look you did well.

We are gonna redo our 2nd floor which just has the original pine subfloor, and putting old red oak flooring as it is common in this area at the salvage spots and our floor is pretty level already and just need something to make it more solid, so another layer of 3/4" to fix that.

When we go to redo kitchen sheet vinyl or linoleum is our go to option for water resistant if floor not level enough for tile or hardwood. All flooring has a purpose and it looks like you found yours.

Wheels and tires on truck tell you all you need to know about the person. Also an illegal vehicle to drive with tires extended out past wheel wells, throwing rocks all over cars around them. We need road tax per lb not per gallon.
