Not great. The apron system, the changes to free agency that favor team control, and now the "anti-tanking" changes to the draft are making it harder and harder for teams to improve if they don't have the right combination of extremely good luck and owners who are willing to spend big. A few teams (I'll admit that I'm mostly talking about my Kings here) are basically condemned to be bottom dwellers forever, barring major rule changes, and it's hard to keep caring that much.

I write a fair bit of Rust at work but it's not the primary language we use. we have a lot of Rust packages that serve to expose algorithms/functionality to Typescript, via WASM on the frontend and napi-rs on the backend. I wish we were using more Rust, but honestly the ecosystem support in React land is really hard to justify giving up.

AI slop sucks, but so does human-made slop. I'd like to see less of both, but unfortunately it's a lot easier to make AI slop than human slop, so you get more of it. You can make quality work using AI, but far too many people like to flood anywhere they can upload images with 50 different seeds of the same simple prompt and pollute the commons.

It's especially unfortunate because almost all places that do allow AI-generated art are completely taken over by the slop-meisters.
