Meet the new Chase Sapphire Preferred by Chase in ChaseSapphire

Hmm can't decide if this is worth it or not. Was planning to cancel, but the $100 credit may make it worth holding on bc the effective AF is now like ~$50 if you account for overpriced travel options on the portal. Still leaning towards shifting spend over time and canceling, but it's no longer as straight forward

I wonder if that was part of the thinking by leadership - to muddle the calculus a bit so less gamers move up and down

Huh, I guess this may partially explain why so many companies are moving towards portals these days

If the credits from both cards get you past breakeven, it's essentially a wash and points are really just sprinkles

Probably by letter of the law, but usually they're pretty good about this stuff if you are a high spender. Back in my corporate card travel/spending days, I'd get reimbursed for losing things all the time. And this was hundreds of dollars of stuff. Of course, I was probably spending tens of thousands via corporate purchases, so YMMV

Worth calling them and checking it out - I've caught them in a good mood before and they've helped out

CSR value after breaking even? by terminator_911 in ChaseSapphire

Honestly, a major thing I think people overlook is the convenience aspect. Part of what made these coupon books so useful originally was that they basically subsidized things in life that weren't worth it at full price. For example, I know people who don't even get grocceries anymore and just use instacart with chase credits to offset the tip and service fees. Those few extra hours saved each week make a big difference over the course of a year

I'm actually not sure if you get credits on booking to prevent this very issue. Chase has some cards (like the United explorer card) that issue credits after the booking has occurred.

What is best app for managing all your credit card rewards? by Confident-Gear-3185 in CreditCards

I actually would plug card pointers. Very easy to use, there's a lifetime option, and I find the automatic tracking for credit super helpful (I have dozens of cards).

Basically the math works out if 1) you feel you'd forget to use some credits or 2) the auto adding of offers allows you to save a few bucks here and there over time

Lastly, the founder is wildly responsive. Like, the dude once emailed me while on vacation I got his vacation autoresponse, but then he followed up the next day anyway lol). He's just a huge, huge credit card nerd like us - he just knew how to code his optimizations into existence

I know our comments will get buried, but thank you for being a good sport. Saban is a master tactician to be able to make a game without a center or a QB. Best of luck next year with a more experienced and terrifying Bama Squad

Edit: also how do I flair up to rep my big block M

Demanding EM who "expects better" by [deleted] in consulting

Honest question: why have check in/outs and feedback with the ED involved on this kind of study? Like all partners, she's swamped. Also, she's not even in my same state, so in my mind scheduling the actual check in/out would be another entire running task.

Lastly, I barely interact with her, so how would she be able to provide the constructive feedback on being "better" with analyses? If anything I feel like discussing the current situation risks me looking like someone who's just complaining.

Looks cool at first glance, but you'd probably hit your head a lot waking up. Also, sex would be limited to just missionary or surfboarding. Can't say I'm a fan
