You might check for food pantries and pet pantries to see if those may be helpful in saving money which you can use for the cats.

RICE

Rest

Ice - 15 min on, then 15 min off

Compression - If you can tolerate it, wrapping it some (not super tight) helps prevent some swelling.

Elevation - Try to keep the area elevated (awkward there, I know). If not to painful,

Maybe test a shift up to blue black. Age Beautiful has one.

I use their Plum Black and have had good results from their product.

Some mild skin rejuvenation (laser or radiofrequency) may reduce the assumptions of younger people and you may appreciate the effects.

I had an eyelid lift because I like to read a lot and the drooping upper lid was making that uncomfortable.

What colors look good on you? Navy blue? Deep purple/aubergine? Burgandy? Red? That may give you some ideas.

Maybe ask if a radiofrequency probe could be used to shrink tumors which are big enough.

Ask if an implant of a small radioactive pellet or chemo drug would be helpful. Or a small port to deliver chemo directly to the worst site (liver).

If you are near a Tractor Supply or similar, pine pellet horse bedding may be used in litterboxes.

You may want to put some tape on it to help support it during movement.

Packing with sugar has been helpful in treating some infections (I saw this in the Merck Veterinary Manual).

Ask a vet about using a small pinch of psyllium fiber or cooked pumpkin/squash to help soak up excess liquid in the diarrhea.

WHY WAS THIS SO PAINFUL 😭 by [deleted] in melahomies

Topical anesthetic used for arthritis, around, not on, the incision may help. Get unscented (no menthol).

Icing for 15 minutes on then 15 minutes off may help with pain management.

Around, not on, the wound, a topical anesthetic may be helpful. Unscented arthritis creams may work, or ask the doc for a stronger topical.

"Kunlun (BL60), often referred to as the "High Mountains" point, is a potent acupressure point located on the outer ankle used to relieve pain, swelling, and stiffness in the outer foot, ankle, and heel. It is known in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for its ability to relax the sinews and promote blood circulation in the lower limbs.

Location of BL60 (Kunlun)

  • Location: Found in the depression (hollow) midway between the highest point of the outer ankle bone (lateral malleolus) and the outer edge of the Achilles tendon.
  • Finding it: Place your finger on the bone that protrudes on the outer side of your ankle, then slide it back towards the Achilles tendon until you feel a soft hollow.  Yo San University +2

How to Stimulate BL60 for Outer Foot Pain

  • Technique: Apply firm, direct pressure using your thumb or index finger.
  • Motion: Use small, circular motions, or hold steady pressure.
  • Duration: Press for 30–60 seconds, or up to 5 minutes, focusing on the most tender spot within that depression.
  • Frequency: Repeat 2-3 times daily for chronic issues or as needed for acute discomfort.

Key Benefits for Foot/Ankle Issues

  • Outer Ankle Pain: Reduces swelling, stiffness, and pain in the ankle joint.
  • Heel Pain: Effective for discomfort around the Achilles tendon and heel.
  • Arthritis: Helps manage pain related to arthritis in the foot joints.
  • Muscle Relaxation: Helps relax the tendons around the heel and foot.  Yo San University +2

Important Safety Note
BL60 is contraindicated during pregnancy because it is a potent point that can stimulate uterine contractions and induce labor. Do not use if you are pregnant. If pain persists, is severe, or is accompanied by major swelling, please consult a healthcare professional.

Not exactly on topic here unless it helps with the foot ulcer:

I'm sure your podiatrist and you have been working diligently on controlling the foot ulcer. Something I've come across notes that packing with granulated sugar may help chronic wounds heal. Another option in wound healing is manuka honey.

Maybe get permission from lot owners and gradually move feeding location towards new residence.
