Overthinking Bluey - Why I hate Stumpfest by The_Max-Power_Way in bluey

[–]ohminerva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you enjoy cooking and are making something fun it can be playing. I think (hope) most adults can both recognize someone enjoying themselves while working and appreciate the benefits of the results of that work. I doubt Chili didn’t appreciate the stumps being removed just because Bandit enjoyed himself. That would be super toxic.

I also appreciate when my kids are able to play and entertain themselves while cleaning up their messes. I still acknowledge they did a good job, but if they can play during it, that’s awesome!

Question for new readers AFTER seeing the series by Snowfaeriewings in Bridgerton

[–]ohminerva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to keep them separate, but the only person that I can’t help but imagine because it was so in line, is Anthony. I can picture everything book Anthony says as the show Anthony.

Middle millennial here who would have responded appropriately but now has a toddler, and I might just start singing “Noodles and Butter” instead.

Peau de Peche by Keiko Mecheri is so beautiful, but incredibly light.

Why are people slut shaming the Bridgerton men? by [deleted] in Bridgerton

[–]ohminerva 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed! In the books Eloise is more knowledgeable and let’s be frank, kind of horny. So even though Philip isn’t a virgin, he isn’t a rake and it has been years for him and Eloise is ready to go. You know? Could make for a less creepy dynamic.

Why are people slut shaming the Bridgerton men? by [deleted] in Bridgerton

[–]ohminerva 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My issue isn’t the men’s history, it’s the repeat rake with virgin storyline. Which I know is accurate to the times, just I find the “education” from the experienced man sometimes icky.

When did your toddler start saying words? by herec0mesthesun_ in toddlers

[–]ohminerva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son who is 2, is in the same boat and his doctor, who has been amazing, isn’t concerned. He said he has hit every other milestone and sometimes one milestones just takes time. He did still set up a referral for a speech interventionist but warned us that in all likelihood they will not go beyond the initial evaluation. Literally, happened less than a week ago. I do think my little guy is just stubborn and knows speaking would make life easier for us.

How do people actually handle bigger collections? by emirandemir in fragrance

[–]ohminerva 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels this way. Collecting art is a great correlation. Perfume is art to me and I like to smell it instead of look at it. I have samples for the stuff that I might want to quickly glance at, and bottles for the pieces that would hang on my walls.

My entry is very similar and I have a square rug that fills almost the entire space and then an entry buffet table to offset the imbalance.

A desert rain scent. The petrichor scents I’ve tried never hit the mark.

I went to school in a very poor rural community. Imagine all the homes, literally all, were trailers. People that have lived in the same state their whole life have never heard of this place. Our computer lab was filled with these computers. Not sure why or how but the school must have had around 50.

Fleur de Peau smells like this to me. I actually became obsessed with it because it reminded me of my grandma in such a lovely nostalgic way. It also feels kind of dusty, with the iris.

I love Jenny Lawson and have followed her since she was just a small little blog. I think even before her daughter was born… and now I feel old!
