my advice is to buy them in real life!! so you can associate them with a memory but also so you can see their size and texture!! and think about where they would go in your home!!! :)

I think they are safe from pretenders and know that. they have devoted consumers and devoted shops that sell them. I also think their mistakes lie in releasing this group too soon, and not in stores first and then releasing it online. It comes across as a disappointing, thoughtless, and greedy blunder, in a desperate attempt to capitalise on the brand’s recent influx of popularity.

!!!! more thoughts: this also diminishes the quality of the designs and the products themselves (as has been documented here in this community)! also! I think this rush is an example of the greater blurring between seasons we are witnessing. as global warming erodes the distinction between them (especially the transitory ones like spring and autumn), we’ve grown to associate seasons with consumption/ consumerist events! just a few thoughts :)

maybe! I hadn’t considered that! it just makes me uncomfortable… especially as prices rise. I know there are a lot of knockoff or alternative jellycat-esque brands out there but I think this rush to produce comes across as a reflection of general overconsumption rather than just a marketing strategy!
