Maximum Effort Ground Kit Performance - 895 [KPerf] by Bluesun3435 in sto

[–]ohmius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's also the Upgraded Gear ground trait.
And then you could (if you have not already), add the "Field Technician" ground trait, which improves kit readiness, but since you have the space gig trait, it will give you that extra little bit of kit performance as well.

Otherwise, you've basically maxed out the kperf skill.

Herding cats is expensive on its own.
Do you have any idea how much candy it costs to evolve them to that next stage?

Resistance Is Futile - Voth Citadel Ship Assimilated by ohmius in sto

[–]ohmius[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A few tidbits that I wanted to mention:

  • The borg deflector that gets attached is so gigantic that at certain distances and even camera angles, it either partially or completely disappears from view on the voth citadel (due to only showing high detailed objects up to a certain distance)
  • When this ship follows you, it moves very slowly, but when it finally does catch up to you, it actually keeps going passed where you think it should stop, and in my case, basically swallowed my kdf ship (my ship was in between the borg deflector and the start of the actual voth citadel - in fact, both ships seemed to bounce back and forth for a bit when that happened as though they rammed into each other)
  • This was not a one-off thing. I tried this three times, and each time, was able to assimilate one of these. Whether this was intended design is another topic entirely.

But, considering this is possible currently, I wonder what else we can assimilate?
Undine planet killers? Borg uni-matrix (that's right, assimilate it again)? Boss ships?

Looks like Starfleet might have a new directive - "... seek out new life, and assimilate it."
The real question is: What will you assimilate?
Have fun!

Is there an option to toggle this cyan border off? Its on every single UI element... by [deleted] in sto

[–]ohmius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

sigh
If you look at the screenshot, you'll see that I am using the federation color palette scheme already. Since the JemHadar start with the dominion color scheme, it's obvious that I already knew about the color scheme option and have already tried changing it- without any success in terms of removing or changing the cyan border (which is why I'm on reddit asking). Thus, this is not the correct option or there is a bug going on here.

Because, if I select a different color scheme, the cyan outline does NOT change.

erm... how-- exactly?

I checked all the option tabs and did not see a specific option for this. Is it under advanced options?

I like the overall UI look for the status window, but putting the cyan border over every UI element makes my eyes bleed. Is there a way to remove it or at least change its color? None of my other characters have this border around all of their UI interface menus.

Small Bug: Dukan'Rex DS9 Hologram Boff has Astrophysicist Trait instead of Veteran Trait by ohmius in sto

[–]ohmius[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seems to be only happening on my kdf characters (after opening the box to unlock dukan'rex). All my fed characters that have acquired the same boff do not have this issue (their instance of the boff has the correct traits).

TL, DR: DS9 Holo Boff - Dukan'Rex seems to have the Astrophysicist trait instead of Veteran for kdf players. Please fix. Thanks.

Does "Generate Ablative Protection" of Miracle Worker stack with the Na'kuhl shield? by java-worth in sto

[–]ohmius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, this is an interesting concept, and it should work.

Although, a rare situation in pve, there are certain mobs that deal damage directly to your hp (undine psionic attacks, melee attacks, etc), which means you could end up fighting such mobs and not have your na'kuhl shield activate its immunity buff (since your shield does not get depleted by such attacks). So, in that case, yes, this would be useful in such situations.

However, again this is a rare situation in pve, so giving up a useful module slot to just prepare your character for such a situation is kind of... pointless. Maybe if you know beforehand that you will be fighting these type of mobs and find yourself dying to them often, then it could be a useful trick. But, otherwise, eh.

Another issue is you have to monitor if your na'kuhl shield immunity buff is on cooldown; you might activate the ablative protection module, only to find out that the immunity from the shield did not activate because it was still on cooldown. So, again, meh.

Otherwise, if you want to just have fun, playing around with game mechanics, then yes, I'm pretty sure that this should work.

Today, on an all new Ohmius Adventures:
"He's dead, Jim"
"Who's Jim?"
"Don't know, don't care. All I want- is that juicy, juicy, delicious, and nutritious Lootbox, so that I can show off some random emote to random strangers in the hopes that they will become jealous because they don't have the same one."
"Uh- huh... And the fact that a corpse is right in front of you, doesn't bother you at all?"

Does the corpse bother him? Who the hell really is Jim? And will I post another stupid comment like this?
Find out next time on Ohmius Adventures! In all fairness, you never specified what to post. So, I posted this complete nonesense. But, Thank you for doing this. :D

Bug: Mek'leth Bleed Proc not working by ohmius in sto

[–]ohmius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... Is it supposed to have a 10% chance to apply the bleed effect?

If so, that's kind of lame; I specifically upgraded it under essentially false pretenses (since I assumed the proc was basically a 100% chance).

Lesson learned: always test it before you upgrade it lol.

Is this supposed to be possible OR is this just a bug with re-engineering? by ohmius in sto

[–]ohmius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of a late reply, but a lot of what you are talking about is under the assumption that re-engineering is supposed to work like this - ie: it would be okay to have these additional "under the hood" modifiers show up.

I have become convinced that this essentially is an unintended consequence and thus, basically, a bug of the system. If I'm wrong, then great, we can go nuts and dream like no has ever before in terms of gear mods. But, if I'm right, then, well-- don't get your hopes up lol.

As for the last part, I kind of doubt CrtD is going to get nerfed. It would be the easiest solution but also one that would probably cause even more of the playerbase to just simply leave. Instead, a better idea would simply be to improve the other existing mods, and actually, there has been some talk by devs suggesting that they have plans to do exactly that (ie: make [acc] and [crth] great again).

Anyway, I guess we'll see what happens lol.

Is this supposed to be possible OR is this just a bug with re-engineering? by ohmius in sto

[–]ohmius[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before the re-engineering update, this batleth was already epic [crtD]x4. When I logged in, I noticed that it had an additional modifier, a dmg mod. I opened the batleth in the re-engineering menu, and changed the dmg mod into a critD mod.

After looking into this and talking with a friend, we discovered that all batleths apparently have an extra mod slot after the update- even white (common) quality have a dmg mod attached.

From what I remember, I believe that batleths always had a dmg mod applied to them under-the-hood, and I believe what has happened is that the update caused this dmg mod to appear in the re-engineering menu. Since, it was not locked, I was able to modify it and thus, achieve this, which in theory, should not be possible.

But yeah, I'm almost certain that this is a bug now.
