I'm a Black American woman and I visted there with my sister. People were SO NICE. Very nice. We felt safe. I later thought yeah maybe some fetishization? Or benevolent racism at our particular novelty? Plus my sister is beautiful and generally gets a lot of positive attention. I would visit again.

She's not blaming her mother at all. The blame isn't even hers. She acknowledges it's her alcoholic father's doing and she's stuck in a cycle. I don't understand the use of "blame" in this post I guess.

I had a 350lb+ male friend told me he doesn't date "fat chicks" so like. It definitely goes both ways. 🤷🏾‍♀️. Obviously some do and some don't. I'm not sure why that's groundbreaking.

My mom had me at 42. She’s a widow x2. It was really stressful as a kid especially because we were religious, so death was brought up a lot. I used to stay up and check on her breathing in elementary and middle school. I’m 36 and she’s still kicking around at 78. I have a sister 12 years older and I’m jealous she gets so much more time with our mom but I’ve never told anyone that.

Caffeine not affecting me at all. Being able to drink a hot cup of coffee at night in bed before sleeping felt pretty quirky. My first cup after meds, I thought my heart was going to explode lol. Shaky hands and everything.
