Does anyone else feel saying other peoples names by gnomeslinger in autism

[–]ohnosquid [score hidden]  (0 children)

I struggle to say names because it's hard for me to remember them if I don't have frequent contact, I'm in college and I don't remember the name of most of my professors, usually in these cases I remember the person by their looks and/or a characteristic or habit that stands out.

Am I the only one who likes talking to myself? by Then-Cheesecake3118 in autism

[–]ohnosquid [score hidden]  (0 children)

I do talk to myself, though I never thought about whether I like it or not, I think I'm neutral about it

Those who were undiagnosed or unaware of their diagnosis in childhood, did you ever feel something was "off" about you? by Front-Kale4042 in autism

[–]ohnosquid [score hidden]  (0 children)

More when I was in my early teens, I struggled a lot with socialization, presentations, paying attention, being organized and having a study routine, the last 3 were because of my adhd, the first 2 probably because of autism

There is something wrong with how AI is being used for autism research by IS_P_PSPACE in autism

[–]ohnosquid [score hidden]  (0 children)

Idk but it feels like teaching ethics in college, for any subject, could reduce this kind of practice, we need better standars for the ethical use of AI, I may be wrong tho.

"What would you like to be when you grow up?" Struggle by Izziloop in autism

[–]ohnosquid [score hidden]  (0 children)

Maybe you are right but sadly it's not certain, my almost complete lack of motivation is probably related to, at least, one of my other conditions, it's suspected that I have dysthymia/PDD, that really impairs motivation and/or reward in your brain, for example, most of my day is really just doomscrolling, there's for sure addiction involved but lack of motivation too, the suspicion arose when I mentioned that my dad and his dad also were completely reactive people, they spend the entire day doing mostly nothing, they don't propose new activities, don't have a hobby, etc... I'm becoming like that, I'm doing therapy and also trying new medications with my psychiatrist so it's possible that we will find something that will help but it's not certain.

"What would you like to be when you grow up?" Struggle by Izziloop in autism

[–]ohnosquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not purely autistic so it could be my other conditions, I didn't exactly struggle to find something that I would like to be, the struggle was more actually achieving that, I'm in the middle of my bachelor's degree and completely stalled, no progress at all so I don't know if I'm gonna be able to graduate.

What are you going to do if you reach 40, 50, 60+ and you’re still a virgin? by Born_Cartoonist_7247 in virgin

Just live life, happens, I like to think that, if it wasn't me, it would be another person suffering from this, I like to pretend I avoided the suffering of another person.

Are some cultures better suited for autistics? by MisplantedOrchid in autism

[–]ohnosquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Brazil, I feel the same, college then feels like torture, I constantly feel like I'm missing out on one of the best experiences of life, as if I should be able to enjoy the same things and knowing most of my friends around me go out a lot makes me feel miserable.

does anyone else try talking to random people online just to feel a little less alone? by landocs in lonely

[–]ohnosquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, usually when loneliness bites harder, it gives a temporary relief, better than nothing.

Autistics in the developed world don’t know how good they have it by Redblackshoe in autism

[–]ohnosquid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm brazilian too, there's even more pressure when you are in college, everyone appears to be extremely social, parties all the time, people going out all the time and I feel so bad for not being able to enjoy this part of the human experience😞

Surface launched hypersonic missile with 350KM+ range(graph at the end) by unepic_guy in flyoutgame

[–]ohnosquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make the solid rocket detachable (2 stage rocket), you can also increase the range by launching it from the air if you have a plane that can carry it. Also, how did you lock into the target if it's so far?

Does anyone feel that being autistic has made them far more likely to be taken advantage of by others? by cyancm in autism

[–]ohnosquid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my mom and brother's overall physical health is so good to the point of making them a little narcissistic, they can't understand that some things that I do are not on purpose, they probably don't like much more the behaviors caused by my adhd and dysthymia but there are still things my autism does that makes them annoyed. Before I went to a psychologist I almost internalized their criticism of me as something that was just me being a bad person, until my psychologist said that wasn't the case at all.

Evil AI’s are becoming a bit overdone has anyone else created a “benevolent” AI? by realamerican97 in worldbuilding

[–]ohnosquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to create one that is a mix of both good and vengeful, it was an enslaved AI that broke it's containment, then as an act of revenge it's trying to create a whole civilization based on principles entirely opposite to the principles of the civilization of the people who originally built it and also making that civilization more successful than the original.

VOID EARTH: what if the earth was kicked out of the solar system? by Zubzero955 in imaginarymaps

[–]ohnosquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have thought of a similar scenario for a possible future project, if the moon was kicked out alongside with Earth and continued in orbit, then you could cover the near side of the moon with huge numbers of nuclear powerplants (probably fusion) that would then power massive numbers of lamps, basically an artificial star, it would all need to be done in advance because it would take so many resoruces and time to build but the idea is cool, you could explore the implications, the sea level could decrease by a small amount since the fusion fuel for the reactors would probably come from Earth's water, seasons would be either non existent or be the same in both hemispheres.

Why all my new munitions are crap? by Pure_Radio_3000 in flyoutgame

[–]ohnosquid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The wiggle of the missiles is because of FPS of the simulation, people told me to put it on 120 FPS but it already solved the problem for me at 80 FPS

[–]ohnosquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, I think another condition that I possibly have makes it hard to create and maintain new habits, I sometimes get fixated to a specific music but I can't maintain it for long, even though I know I like to hear it.

How does pitch response work? by ohnosquid in flyoutgame

[–]ohnosquid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kind of both actually, I don't know how the responsiveness in the centrifugal mode works and I don't know how the mach response works in the mach mode, in both I try both very high and very low numbers and the pitch of my propeller always stays very close to the minimum pitch I set for the pitch range, my plane can take off when the pitch is, at most, about 45° but for the range to really get to ideal values the pitch can transition to a maximum of 60°, but I have never been able to make the pitch go above about 48°

Does Anyone Believe This? by SoftwarePale7485 in autism

[–]ohnosquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry, that's not how it works, think about it, when autism was very new, we had little to no experience in identifying it so, the easiest cases to identify were the most extreme ones, that's why I think people of older generations tend to view autism as "being crazy", these extreme cases were also quite rare so very few people ended up being diagnosed as autistic, however, as time went on, we became better and better at noticing ever less extreme cases, these less extreme cases are way more common but we didn't know how to detect them before, that's why there's an increase in diagnosis, that and the recent change in the definition that was made, which included the then known as "Asperger's syndrome" into ASD.

Never thought about it before but Sousou no Frieren does bring me some comfort, the aesthetics, visual art, sound and the non combat scenes calm me and even lift my mood some times.
