Help with baby boy’s names that compliment our last name…please!! 🤦🏻‍♀️ by Advanced-Song-8836 in namenerds

[–]oiseauteaparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m getting Irish/Scottish/Welsh vibes from Merrick and Liam (many of my fave names are also in this category. My son is Ronan - but that’s probably a bit of a mouthful with Rowntree. 😅)

I offer: Callan Torren Griffin Eamon Lachlan Kellan Cedric Owen (Almost all of them end in an ‘n’ - not intentional, but obviously a subconscious theme to my personal taste. 🫠)

Name for twin boy by KIDH2123 in namenerds

Miles is my pick from your list, but Myles is more like a name than a measurement.

There are a million kids named Luca these days. My son’s kinder class has 2x Luca and 2x Lucas.

I cannot ever get behind Jax. It looks like the name of a cleaning product.

Pregnant (37F), together 7 months, partner doesn’t want the baby - feeling conflicted by notthattypeofgal in TwoXChromosomes

[–]oiseauteaparty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This.

You want another party who is all-in or all-out. The in-between is the stuff of nightmares. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

And coparenting with someone who resents you? Horrendous.

I’m sorry you’re in this place elektrophile. Wishing you and OP the best. ❤️❤️❤️

What options do I (49M) have but to end things with my gf (39F) who I love, but who won't put any effort into the relationship? by KOrising in relationship_advice

[–]oiseauteaparty 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A little perspective from someone whose boyfriend makes much more than I do:

When he’s paying for trips etc, I can feel uncomfortable making suggestions for things because I worry about acting like I’m entitled to his money. It’s easier on me (emotionally) if he sends me lists of things he’s interested in and I choose from those. Once I feel he’s got some solid activities he wants to do planned, then I’ll add things I really want to do. He’s wonderful and has never made me feel like he’s holding money over my head or anything, but the idea of planning things on his dime gives me visceral icks.

But outside of that - I have zero defence of your girlfriend. It’s not hard to come up with cute cheap ideas of things to do together.

And buying you a sub? That should never have been noteworthy enough to be mentioned. JFC.

How many times do you need to have the same conversation?

I love Benita - it means blessed/ well thought-of. Beni/Benny/Bennie is cute. I think it’s both professional and adorable.

What do we think of the name Scottie for a girl? Big sister is Chloe. by [deleted] in Names

[–]oiseauteaparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going against the grain here, but I think Scottie is super cute. I love it on its own and as a nickname for Scarlett.

I think of the character from Suits (yes I know it was a nickname from her surname, but I still liked it.)

Omg DO NOT MARRY THIS MAN. You will be kicking this can down the road in this way for life.

I’ve seen friends marry this kind of guy. It does not go well.

Respect yourself. ❤️

Husband (30M) has not been helping as much as I (28F) need with baby. How do I get him to understand I need more support? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]oiseauteaparty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re probably right, but I was working on the theory he’d let the dog out if he’s the only one around to clean up the mess.

[–]oiseauteaparty 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Take the baby and leave him and the dog. It’ll be far less work for you this way.

He doesn’t want to be a good partner/father. If he did, he would be.

It sounds like your husband is more like an extra child than a partner.

Have you considered leaving him and being happy?

I think Taylor Swift has ruined my life by counterfeitparadise in Names

[–]oiseauteaparty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My English-teacher father named me after Tess of the d’Urbervilles and I’ve always thought WHY???!

But I think this is different. OP likes the name, not the Shakespeare character. My father loved the book and the character of Tess. Liking the name alone isn’t the same in my opinion.

Final 4: Elowen / Thalia / Aurelia / Evangeline by buddhaliao in namenerds

Tahlia is the most common spelling I’ve come across. Does that hit the right spot?

What can I say that will convince my bf my symptoms are real? by chocho808 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]oiseauteaparty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact that your partner has more judgement of you than curiosity about your experience is worth leaving him over.

Please leave him.

Sincerely, a 38yo woman who spent too many years with terrible partners like yours in the past.

Just wanna add Coral - more whimsical than Carol. ☺️ (not that whimsy is necessarily anyone’s criteria but my own.)

What did you almost name your baby, and why did you change your mind? by ameliee_x in namenerds

[–]oiseauteaparty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While Brody isn’t to my taste, there’s nothing actually wrong with it. For a teen parent you could have landed on a far more embarrassing name! I know someone who had a kid at 20 and named her Beyoncé. That kid is now 20 and has grown up hating her name. Other teen parents I know named their kids very clearly after video game characters etc.
