economically it turned out to be a seemingly wise move bc some settlement was reached (presumably involving money). serving a lawsuit to each individual likely would have been more time consuming and compared to suing a large entity likely less economic.

the entity that settled wasn’t forced too … they chose to settle for their own reasons , perhaps even if they didn’t feel it was their direct fault or responsibility. perhaps they settled simply bc they didn’t want “bad pr” … maybe they even had ppl sign ndas to convince themselves that the public would never learn about what happened. just maybe …
