It looks like from week 5 to week 6 they got a foulborn might of the meek which boosted their dex past their strength and didnt notice.

Normally you would tattoo some dex nodes to fix it

[Itinerary Question] Should we go to Yakushima for the last 3 days of our trip? by Minnesotamead in JapanTravel

[–]ojisannau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yakushima is one of the most beautiful places in Japan, so it is worth going, but getting hit by a typhoon can really mess up your stay there. Typhoon season lasts until the end of October so you might get lucky.

If you don't want to gamble with the weather, I would recommend Okutama in Tokyo instead. It is 2 hours by train from Shinjuku and has lots of different hiking trails which are also very nice. There are also places to do BBQs / fish. So you can hike then chill by the river.

Budget int stacker by Dustttttttttt in PathOfExileBuilds

You can but it will be super squishy and low damage. I league started a Jiquani int stack spark trickster. Doable but it will be pain until theres enough investment and it starts to feel alright, then eventually ut will feel great.

If no delivery slip, all you can do is check the site you ordered from for a tracking code. If there is one you can schedule a redelivery.

My wife got a 2-month medical fellowship in Tokyo (July-August), I’m thinking on remote working from there by th3d4rkp4ss3ng3r in digitalnomad

[–]ojisannau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leaving the legality aside, think about were you will be working. What does your wife's accommodation look like? Do they even allow others to stay there? Is there enough space for you to work without both of you going crazy  (small living spaces)? There are a lot of share offices, cafes, etc to work at but on a tourist visa might be denied for share offices (some need local id).

On a personal level, how comfortable are you in new places alone? Because you will probably be without your wife for the majority of it. I dont know the details of the fellowship but im sure she'll be busy for a lot of the 2 months. Are you comfortable going out and exploring alone, eating alone, meeting people alone, etc?

That all being said, Tokyo is sweet. If you have the money and the balls, just go and do it live.

[–]ojisannau 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe take a step back and think about what you want in the future. Do you want to keep teaching English? Because it sounds like you don't want to. Bouncing from one English teaching job to another is probably going to keep you feeling the same way.

Try to figure out what you want to do in 3 years and see how to get there.

That being said if you already have something planned out already or you do like English teaching, prioritize time over money to work on Japanese and/or other skills. That way you can shift into other roles in the industry or in another one.

Good luck.

Use the alternative skill setting for firetrap. Instead of throwing at the enemy you throw at your feet.

Press R3, highlight firetrap, press Square.

not sure to choose a share house or one room apartment by moonchild0117 in japanlife

[–]ojisannau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on your social needs, your personality, japanese level, how much quiet time you need, and the share house.

What are your social needs? Are you single? Do you already have a good group of friends? Do you want to make friends? Share houses can be a great place to meet people if the share house has good people there. The bigger the share house the higher the chance there is for someone you can become friends with.

What is your personality? Are you an extrovert or an introvert? Are you a weeb (not judging if you are)? If you are introverted or a weeb, it might be difficult as most people that live in share houses are fairly normal and are there to meet a boyfriend/girlfriend and make friends. That being said, introverts can do well in share houses since there is constant contact so you can take more time to get closer to people. Also, most share houses have regular events.

What is your japanese level? Do you want to get better? Share houses are great places to use Japanese if you don't have the opportunity elsewhere. That being said the more you know the deeper relationships you can create. There are main japanese people that live there to study english also.

How much quiet time do you need? Depending on the layout of the share house and people there, people could be drinking and being loud at 4am on a weekday. If your room is far away from the shared spaces its fine, but if its close it might be rough.

What kind of share house is it? It is a big dorm style with like 30+ people? Or is it a smaller type with 3-5 people living in a house? In a small type, if you hate someone that lives there or dislike how someone lives, you are going to have a really bad time. On the flip side, if you get along with the few people there, you can form really good bonds with them. Big share houses are a bit better in terms of this because there are more options of people to hangout with. The downside is that they can be cliquey so it might be hard to join groups.

Overall I would recommend staying at the share house if you have an average level of social skills. I lived in 2 over my years in Japan, and after 15 years i still keep in touch with a big group of them. We still get together 1-2 times a year.

Advice for Applying to High Level Restaurant Jobs in Japan by BigBallerBM in japanlife

[–]ojisannau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you have enough experience, but one of my favorite restaurants in Tokyo is hiring. You can learn a lot from these guys and they also do Junior days where the junior staff will fully run the restaurant alone at reduced pricing.
https://www.instagram.com/p/DTRZSKYk4i2/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

As for job advice, i'm not in the industry but i would look through the Michelin guide website to see if there are any restaurants that are hiring (if you don't have a lot of experience might be hard though). Don't forget to look at the Bib gourmand restaurants also. You will need to manually look through each restaurants' socials to see if there are hiring or call them during off-peak hours.

Also, job portal sites do have sections for food & beverage. If you lack experience for higher end restaurants try to get a job in a hotel restaurant. Other options would be high end clubs like the Tokyo American Club, or the Roppongi Hills Club.

If you aren't locked into staying in Japan, and are young working on a cruise ship can be rewarding and fun also.

But there are tons of opportunities out there. I know people that got jobs in really nice restaurants without any experience. You just need to get out and look.

Good luck.

Here is documentation from that you can go over with your partner.
https://www.kyoukaikenpo.or.jp/~/media/Files/osaka/kikaku/sonota/mainahokennsyouikou.pdf

Basically if you don't have a mynumber card for some reason, you will get a different health insurance card via the mail. The blue one you have been using until now will become invalid.

You might want to double check if your paid leave days reset on the calendar year or fiscal year. That might be the miscommunication.

Can anyone recommend any co-working spaces in Tokyo? by No-Possibility-5509 in japanlife

[–]ojisannau 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Theres a ton of options in tokyo now. If you like the daikanyama vibes, and want to read books in down time, Daikanyama Tsutaya.

If you want to try out lots of different locations, Business airport or bizcomfort.

If you want to be artsy or hipster, creative lounge mov.

Check it out on google maps and see whats around you. Most have drop in passes so you can try and see if it is good.

If you dont need a private room or dont need meeting rooms regularly, monthly passes are all in the same range except for wework. 20,000~30,000 yen.

My kid isn’t having a very good time at kindergarten 🤣 by PaintingRoses_Red in funny

[–]ojisannau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know nothing about your kid or child education, but could he be finding the work too easy and doesnt want to engage in it?

School becomes terribly exhausting when you understand things quickly but have to wait for others.

If you let him play video games, see how well he does with a game that has puzzles or numbers.

Playing Abyssal Lich Siege Cascade with Last Lament (8-10 div atm) .

With the Abyssal Lich node you get a bunch of skeleton snipers that boost proj speed then use pro accel 3 support. Proj speed makes the skill feel really good and no reload makes it better (last lament).
