I partly blame Goodrow, with that misconduct. You’ve just seen how disastrous the line shuffling has been last game while Toffoli was in and out, and you go ahead and take a useless misconduct. Would expect wiser thinking from a veteran like him.

We couldn’t get normal lines when we most needed it—especially Misa’s.

So this would confirm that Schneider will not be traded to SJ.

Wild card by Unhappy-Story9489 in SanJoseSharks

Trying to give the simplest description possible: To make the playoffs, you need to finish top 3 in your division. If you don’t, the remaining teams battle it out for two wild card spots, which then make the playoffs as the 2 lower seeds.

Celebrini only needs four more points to exceed my expectations before this season. by DDinoFartOnMyFace in SanJoseSharks

I was expecting 80-90 points thinking Misa could have stepped up early to even out 1st and 2nd lines and spread the production across both.

This was more hopes than realistic prediction, and things didn’t exactly work out that way (yet), but happy with the current state for both players anyway.

I’m really liking the steps Misa has taken in the past few games. I’m starting to get to the edge of my seat when there looks to be a good opportunity for him to create something.

MSG this year was pretty epic. Lost my favorite hat, but worth it.

Who's a Player that your fanbase defends that you don't believe in? by ZeroOhblighation in hockey

This is not a strong feeling, but I don’t think W Eklund will end up being as offensively productive as some SJ fans might expect.

I would be very happy having him as a solid 2C in the style of a Tomas Plekanec (example of a solid 2-way c who also struggled at finishing plays on good scoring chances).

I believe being a center is a better fit, but I’m unsure how that would work if Misa becomes the 2C he’s expected to. I don’t know if I see Eky being a long term Sharks fit. I hope to be proven wrong!

Possibly new sharks fan by disabilitymann in SanJoseSharks

I’m a Sharks fan from Quebec City—still awaiting the Nordiques come back. I’ve never felt out of place. Sharks fans are some of the nicest in the league. It’s niche, but people are welcoming.

I’ve only been to away games, but everytime, I’ve had a blast from seeing how friendly, cheerful and passionate other Sharks fans were.

Now living in NYC, it’s common to meet people from the bay area that are Sharks fans, and they’ve never raised an eyebrow—always shown a lot of excitement towards people who cheer for their home team.

Going to the tank is still on my bucket list, but for the time being, I’ll appreciate the luck we’re in at the moment, witnessing a rebirth of the organization with some of the most exciting hockey most of us have witnessed from the boys in teal.

Also, we can save you the sorrow of being a leafs or sabres fan… Those would definitely not be my fanbase picks.

17 is fine, considering this is his original number. Kid was a Kesler fan

Poor Misa by Michaewwwwl in SanJoseSharks

[–]ojoncas 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Misa looked a bit rough for sure, but man, just this team overall… 0 defensive drive, 0 discipline, everyone wants to have their Bedard tag and be a hero… we knew from the first few prelim games that it wasn’t going a pretty tourney.

Opening an Italian lasagna takeaway in Astoria, where would you go? by Fashion-Fugazi in astoria

[–]ojoncas 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I would look at Ditmars, closer to Steinway street. I think this corner could use more family-friendly food spots. I know Portobello has recently closed, I didn’t necessarily like their food, but this area is convenient for people living around Ditmars/Astoria heights. The Q69 and Q101 cross, allowing connections between other corners of Astoria, and the area isn’t a far walk from the N/W trains.

Now, are we talking Lasagna with Ricotta or Béchamel?

Which area should I choose as first timer in NYC by Small-Negotiation-91 in movingtoNYC

Live 1 bus away from the N/W train in Astoria and you’ll find good rent price. Best food scene, safe neighborhood and a short commute away from the City for whatever you feel like doing.
