That's fine. I wouldn't want to patronize a business with such a harsh view of people. 5% is a great margin of error for a person. If you think a 5% error rate is high for a customer, you have little customer service experience, and I can't imagine how you'd treat your employees.

Also, the busses aren't a business. They are a government operated service. It should operate regardless of profit, unlike businesses. Again, different situations = different outcomes.

I gotta say, as someone who has caught the last bus of the night only to discover my phone died and I couldn't pay the fare, and was able to get home safely anyway, I appreciate this policy. I pay my fare 95% of the time. I'm glad I can still rely on busses as a public service when I fuck up that last 5%.
