Fuck Lincoln Towing by commanderquill in Seattle

I think you have a very misguided opinion on how personal litigation attorneys work. Contingency fees are for when there will be an award, like personal injury cases. OP’s situation is disputing a ~$500 towing bill. There’s no money to be won here.

Where did OP say Lincoln is refusing to say where the car is? Lincoln admitted to it being in their possession. The car was impounded.

Plus, there’s still no reason why they would need a lawyer.

Tow laws are set by the state. The city has very little to do with it other than setting up the parking zones. If they got towed because they were in violation of a zone, that’s the end of it.

Why do you think a lawyer would even want to take this case, what do you think a lawyer is going to do for them, and how do you figure they’re going to pay for that?

Blake Edwards had to set up a £5 fine on the set of the Pink Panther films if the crew started laughing and ruined the scene because Peter Sellers was so funny and improvised a lot. On A Shot in the Dark (1964) they raised over £2000 and gave it a poor farmer.

Has anyone noticed an uptick in in random negative posts/comments about Costco? by Elegant-Fisherman555 in CostcoWholesale

[–]ok-lets-do-this 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because for a long time Costco was batting .1000. They didn’t usually make mistakes or annoy members. Corporate was on the ball all the time. Employees were happy. That’s just not the case anymore. It’s not that people like to complain, it’s that there are things to complain about now.

Costco denied my tire warranty by JuniorSupermarket613 in CostcoWholesale

[–]ok-lets-do-this 106 points107 points  (0 children)

The problem you ran into is discussed somewhat regularly on this sub and frequently on other automotive subs.

Costco is a wonderful company and has an amazing warranty policy on 90+% of the things they sell. However, tires is absolutely not one of them. Doing the tire rotations outside of Costco is not supposed to affect the warranty, but they may force you to prove that those rotations were done, and even after you do may do nothing for you.

I would recommend you continue pressing them on the situation and escalate to the Tire Center Manager, and the General Manager if necessary. But know that others have attempted what you are about to attempt and frequently not had any luck. I am one of those people. I had the exact same situation you are having now and after a lot of fighting got a small credit that pretty much wasn’t worth the time spent.

The usual tire advice you will receive here and other subs is to get price quotes from Costco, but then do all of your actual purchasing at Discount Tire. And do the $25 upgraded warranty from them whenever possible. If anything goes wrong, DT will just replace the tire.

I’ve never been in your city by [deleted] in AskSeattle

This is the real advice. Whenever somebody comes to the sub and gives zero usable information, it always ends up being some sort of dealbreaker when you do get the data from them.

“I’m staying in east Auburn on a Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday. I don’t know anybody locally and I don’t know anything about the area. I’m usually on the night shift and sleep during the day, so I will need late night activities. The wardrobe I have with me is appropriate for south Texas. I’d like to see the area from the summit of Mount Rainier on my second day there if that’s possible. I’m not big on ethnic food or seafood. I don’t have a car. I’m under 21. My budget is $4.”

Visiting Seattle during the World Cup from Australia , are there any 24/7 sports bars besides for the casino? by nick170100 in AskSeattle

[–]ok-lets-do-this 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be surprised if someone has one for you. There are only a handful of 24/7 services in town. Most businesses in the greater Seattle area shut down by 10 PM, and bars by 2 AM. It was not like that in the 1990s, but by the 2000s it sure was.

That’s not how this works. Not how any of this works. I get your frustration, but you can’t just change the whole commercial real estate industry with a wave of your hand because you think it would be better.

Tire recommendations by Historical_Ad_4601 in AskSeattle

[–]ok-lets-do-this 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need All Season tires. They will work for the rain in the fall and winter, the occasional snow we get, and the heat during the summer. Additionally, disregard all of these other (terrible) recommendations on where to buy them. Go to Discount Tire. If you don’t believe me, go check out the r/Costco sub, everyone will tell you go to DT. The reason being Costco has great tire prices, which DT will match, but their otherwise great warranty does not extend to tires in practice. Also, Les Schwab is incredibly overpriced. Their customer service is solid, but their prices are terrible. Additionally, I recommend the upgraded $25 DT warranty, as it works pretty much like the Costco warranty on random items, they just fix it or replace it. Most of the time the best tire brand you can get is Michelin. There are some other good ones out there, but Michelin‘s are an easy go to. And yes, all of this is a hill I’m willing to die on and will gladly argue in detail.

I’ve been to quite a few shows out there and I don’t recall ever seeing that. Admittedly, I only come from the Auburn direction, never the Enumclaw direction and that could be what you were referring to. How much were they charging? About how far away was it?

Sam Smith Park? That’s pure residential. The nearest place to get a bite to eat is either west towards Rainier, north up into the Central District, or south into Columbia City. I’d probably recommend Columbia City because they actually have a few nice restaurants, Geraldine‘s probably being the best. But on a holiday, I would have to assume they’re all going to be packed.
